That’s a lot of words to say next season is completely based on the portal. Not player development. Not coaching. But landing enough talent to compensate for past failures. IU’s season could be done by the end of May. And for what? That is the plan of literally every single coach on the hot seat right now. “Just give me a chance with the portal”. I feel confident in any coach that has been mentioned recently taking over than the current staff putting all their chips in the portal.

I don’t have to read interviews with recruits, I just have to review the list of commitments for the 2024 class. And what if TG isn’t here next year? And even if he is, I don’t feel that is going to attract the talent needed at point. If you think the fans are bad this year, oh boy are you in for a surprise next year.

“Will be easy to do”… that’s what’s bothering me. Finding a play making, three point threat, B10 ready starting point guard isn’t going to be “easy” for this staff. You feel this staff can rebuild this roster by convincing players that the offense is going to completely change…. I don’t. And that’s just one spot. Thinking about 5+ spots more is not going to be “easy”. And what if they don’t land a starting point guard? What then?

Mike Davis had a pretty nice run at UAB and Detroit after IU as well…

So, what’s the plan for point guard next year?

I would hope that the administration would have a bigger picture in mind when deciding Woodson’s fate. 15-16 vs 14-17 vs 16-15… better not be part of any decision making process.

If Mike Woodson’s fate is decided by a 4 point win at home versus an unranked Wisconsin team, then he was never in danger to begin with.

The only way I see this working is if Woodson, Pearl, Auburn, and IU are all willing to negotiate all the numbers.

You think “anxiety, panic, doom, etc” are going to go down or leave the fanbase if Woodson stays? I think the product on the floor and the lack of confidence going forward creates those feelings more than the “IU media”.

And Woodson’s is $12,000,000….we are gonna need more donors…. :)

Because that is the understanding at Auburn. Once Dad retires, son gets the job. It’s not official, but it’s common knowledge.

Walsh, Hunter, Cheaney, and Marshall are from Miller, right? Rosemond, Hill, and Hulls are the new ones, right? Not counting Fife and Matta…

I think this a huge thing people don’t realize. The current staff is mostly the last staff that failed plus a head coach with no college experience.

Which is the exact reason Woodson needs to step down. Save his legacy. I’ve been a fan since the 80s and every coach change. Its going to get VERY bad next year…..and I don’t want a former player to go through that.

Besides being a former player, what qualifications did Woodson have to be a head coach at the college level? “Idiots” is harsh. How about blind faith because “former player”?

I feel very confident saying that there are players that will transfer if Woodson stays.

Miller was also coaching when the B10 was the best it had been in 20 years. This year the B10 is the worst it’s been since at least 2004-2005

It was always my tailgate food for football games when I was there. It’s in a weird part of town so it might have always closed early.
