Rice will be a 22 year old RS sophomore, Hickman a 22 year old senior, Humrichous a 22 year old senior, someone like Amari Williams would be a 23 year old super senior, and then Carlyle obviously a 20 year old sophomore. Throw in Galloway, Reneau, etc and there’s nothing young about that roster.

I think Donovan would be their #1 target. The NBA regular season ends a week from today and the Bulls are locked into the 9/10 play-in game meaning their season could be over a week from Wednesday. Failing to get out of the play-in round would mean 4 missed playoffs in 5 seasons for Donovan in Chicago. Tough to see how he survives that.

Reneau would average close to 18 a game as the sole big on the floor. MM, BH and/or CH are all volume 3 point shooters and it’s expected that Rice and/or Carlyle would improve as shooters considering they were freshman last season. That’s typical year to year progression. It would be a vastly better roster than last season, not to mention deeper, and one that is much better constructed.

lol - I said it’s possible he’s contractually obligated to attend this event (he has a media and appearance clause in his contract) and even if he isn’t it’s a well attended event by many coaches from major programs. -never said he couldn’t recruit this week, I said it’s the recruiting dead week which doesn’t confine him to Bloomington as he’s prohibited from making in-person contact with recruits. Given that a normal round of golf takes about 4 hours, it’s more than plausible he was done by lunch which of course doesn’t come close to describing a lions share of the day Good try though

Getting Rice, Carlyle, a shooter (BH or Hickman), and a defensive 5 who can play 20-25 mpg along with Reneau, Mgbako, Tucker, and Galloway is a damn good team.

No set of donors at any university are having a fundraising event that involves its men’s head coach this weekend as they are all down in Phoenix at the NABC Convention, as is customary this time of year, every year during the Final Four. It’s precisely why the dead period exists and is held during this week. How hard is this to understand? Nothing you are saying makes any sense nor is applied to this weekend. Then why bring up the lack of a complete roster? It’s April 7th, the current season isn’t even over. More than half of the 360 some D1 teams have incomplete rosters on this date. There’s over 1000 players in the portal still growing by the day. It’s the new nature of this sport. I don’t get tying Woodson with golfing this morning to that fact. We had 9 players on the roster at this date last year, 2 more than what it is this year.

I’m not doing anything other than providing context. Anyone who thinks Woodson neglected his coaching duties by golfing this morning fail to understand that: a) it’s a recruiting dead period b) he’s at a national coaching convention with 5,000 other coaches c) playing a 4 hour round at 8am on a Sunday with A and B in play has zero impact on a season that starts 7 months from now. Either that are posters are being purposely obtuse, which at this point, is starting to make more sense.
