If the barometer for success in high school recruiting is bringing in five 5* recruits a class then every other coach in America is bad at landing top high school talent. The portal allows you to improve your roster every single offseason with proven players rather than relying on 18-10 year old freshman. I'm sorry this doesn't fit your narrative. Woodson's high school recruiting has been just fine. Back to back B10 FOY, Reneau poised for another big year after making a big freshman to sophomore leap, and by all accounts Tucker is going to be a stud. Had he been a little more aggressive in the portal last year trying to upgrade the backcourt we likely aren't having these discussions.
