You’re more level headed than most. If OG doesn’t blow out his knee and IU subsequently makes the tournament like they would have, not even the looniest of fans are calling for his head. Bottom line is that the IU brass never forgave Crean for 2013 and 2016 finally gave them an out. Not unexpected with a delusional bunch.

This idea that Crean had to go because nobody wanted to play for him is a myth. Several top 100 players were either on the roster or committee to play for Crean when he was fired. He literally signed the #1 recruit in the country while at Georgia. Stop with the pontificating BS that nobody wanted to play for Crean and that’s why he was fired.

The assumption that Crean would have gone 15-57 in the B10 had he been retained is just preposterous. He had a ranked team and was well on his way to making his 5th tournament in 6 years until OG blew out his knee. He likely would have retained Blackmon for his senior year who had no interest in playing in Archie’s system along with Robert Johnson and upperclassman Juwan Morgan. Extrapolating Crean’s years at Georgia to Indiana is effing STUPID.

Uh no. It’s this idiotic generation of IU fans (who weren’t even alive when IU was a power) that have decided winning conference championships and reaching the second weekend is beneath current day IU, who is a shell of its former self. And for the under 30 crowd, yikes…it’s only going to get worse.

May could have had the job THIS year had he wanted it or simply waited out the Woodson experiment that everyone knew was on borrowed time. He chose to go to Michigan that shares every resource IU has and likely then some without a delusional or toxic fan base. Have heard from a very reliable source that he had no desire to put his immediate and extended family through a potentially very ugly scene had things not worked out here, as many still live in the area.
