I'm not here for "inside" info. I'm here to discuss IU basketball, in this case, the next coach. Brad Stevens is not going to coach Indiana basketball regardless of what anybody hears. Glad we cleared that up.
-
If you came here for inside info, well I feel sorry for you. At least you aren't paying for it on Peegs.
-
I didn't say anything about university spending. I said that Creighton was on par in terms of NIL with the rest of their Big East counterparts. I don't care that Marquette's largest expenditure is renting out the Fiserv Forum. That's irrelevant to any comment I've made in regards to Creighton and their NIL.
-
That's fine. They still don't have anywhere near the NIL pool or donor base that Creighton does which is the brunt of the argument.
-
Marquette spends most of their basketball money renting out the Fiserv Forum. They don't have anywhere near the amount of wealthy alums or donor base that Creighton does. UConn is in a league of their own as they should be, it's a state public school with a 4-5x larger alumni base than the rest of these small, private Big East schools and St. John's has recently gotten a commitment from Mike Repole, likely because St. John's is now good again.
-
Then you’d know there’s a ton of Berkshire money running through that school. If Buffett himself ever decide to get involved personally, it’d be game over.
-
From somebody who regularly used to travel to Omaha for work, I'm telling you it's true. UConn and St John's are the only other two BE schools who compete.
-
It is true. UConn obviously is the one state, public school in the Big East with a much larger alumni base. But Creighton holds their own with every body else including St. Johns.
-
Creighton has more money than just about every one of their BE counterparts and facilities galore.
-
Incredible how irrelevant that is to anything I said.
-
Ok and? I don’t believe a single word that comes out of your mouth. I’m simply pointing out how/why Woodson would have inside information to the coaching search to all those that are under the impression that Woodson would be the last to know. He’s extremely close to two of the highest people around.
-
You don’t think Ferguson and/or Cindy SS are privy to what is going on behind the scenes lol? Even if they aren’t directly talking to or about McDermott. Good lord.
-
Because I wasn’t here 8 hours ago… But yes doing exactly that lol.
-
Absolutely. Woodson is extremely close with both Ferguson and Cindy SS.
-
You called him a nut job for being religious lol.
-
Does this website have closed captioning?
-
If that's truly the case, either hell has frozen over or Dolson has been taken behind the woodshed one too many times.
-
Good idea, that's basically what this thread is now.
-
I'd imagine a Brad Stevens only thread would rival a Joel Osteen telethon.
-
Is it still free? Not going to pay for equally bad intel when I can readily get it here.

Haven't been on the Rivals board in 5 or 6 years

Blasphemy. It's a free message board and all opinions are welcomed except the ones that go against the herd mentality

I think Drew has a much better chance than Otzelberger although Drew just turned down Louisville and Kentucky last year. I do think Baylor struggling this year may signal that Drew has achieved all that he can at Baylor but if his wife is as ardent as some say she is, she may be running the show. Honestly wouldn't be shocked to see Drew coach another year or two at Baylor and retire. Not like he couldn't if he wanted too.
-
I put Brownell in a tier above McCollum and Byington because Brownell is at least an older and experienced coach. The other two are younger and it's not exactly a secret that Dolson prefers older, experienced coaches.
-
No doubt, but in a world where Scott Drew (and more importantly his wife) don't want to uproot their lives and everything they've built in Waco coupled with Otzelberger being perfectly content Ames, Brad Brownell becomes a much more realistic candidate than 95% of people on this board want to believe. All that I was alluding too this morning. I definitely see a scenario where Scott Drew and TJ Otzelberger pass on the IU job, in fact, in wouldn't surprise me in the least.
