  1. Yeah and that’s the fear I believe people have. They’re nowhere close to the same player. Leal is the definition of heart and hustle, but he was relatively low skilled. Enright a much better dribbler, passer, and shooter than Leal.
  2. Completely different players who aren’t even really comparable. Yesufu was an undersized 2 guard who couldn’t shoot.
  3. The best player in the B10 this year is 6 foot 170 lbs on a good day. What are you talking about size for?
  4. Tucker played in 8 games for West Virginia last year. They didn’t have a volume 2 guard either. So yes the need for a Javon Small type PG not only made sense, but was needed. I’m just telling you, if your 1, 2, and 3’s mentality is to shoot the ball every time they touch it next year, you’re going to have issues. Again, I will withhold judgement on Enright until the roster is set. But if our 2-4 looks something like Conwell, Powell, DeVries then yes I want a PG who doesn’t turn the ball over while facilitating the offense. Maybe DeVries wants a ball dominant PG like Small and will surround him with 3 and D type players, I don’t know. But roster construction is a real thing and you need guys who not only fill but understand and embrace certain roles.
  5. It’s above 2:1. DePaul’s best player last year was CJ Gunn…think about that? Somebody has to distribute the ball to Tucker and god forbid somebody like Ryan Conwell. You don’t need a 20 pt scoring PG who takes 15 shots a game if that’s who you have out on the wing.
  6. He’s one player lol. He also lead the Big East in assists before getting hurt. Is he a 35+ mpg lead guard? Of course not, have not seen a single person suggest that. Can he play 20-25 mpg surrounded by shot makers and scorers? Yeah, absolutely.
  7. I generally do not understand the angst in adding Enright? You’re potentially needing to fill 13-15 roster spots. How anyone can attribute adding a veteran leader with years of experience in DeVries system as anything but a good thing is beyond me.
  8. Kind of with you on Freeman, really good offensively around the rim but not a very good defender or rebounder given his size. He'll be a substantial downgrade from Kalkbrenner who could defend without fouling and protect the rim. Dix I have no problem with but worry about him defensively especially if you're pairing him with DeVries. That's not a ton of athleticism out on the perimeter.
  9. Louisville ended up with Kelsey because they: a) whiffed on Scott Drew b) whiffed on Dusty May c) couldn't afford Cronin's buyout Louisville could have hired Beard after b and c failed and still chose to hire Pat Kelsey. That speaks volumes.
  10. Agreed. Best to reserve judgement until the roster is finalized. You add Tucker, Powell, and god forbid a 2 guard like Ryan Conwell, you don’t need a score-first PG hunting looks every time down. In fact, could potentially be detrimental.
  11. Henley left DePaul and UNLV because his coaches were fired. I don’t find that odd in this climate. That being said, I believe he’s a meh player and somebody I’m not losing sleep over.
  12. Enright will never be an AA but would wager he’d be one of the nastiest, orneriest SOB’s we’ve seen in awhile. Guessing he’d be a ~25 mpg guy here. Whether or not he starts is up to Coach. Guessing he finishes most games.
  13. I don't think he's an elite athlete no, but also don't think he's a defensive liability either. I think his instincts and toughness make up for that.
  14. If you can get 17-18 ppg out of Tucker and another 13-14 out of your 2 guard you're going to want a guy like Enright facilitating and distributing the ball.
  15. Coaching changes at two of the schools.
  16. Came here just to say the same thing.
  17. I'm not "dissing" anybody, good Lord. He's good player more than capable of playing at the P5 level. But if your offense at a B10 school is tailored around Bennett Stirtz dribbling the ball out for 25 seconds and taking a shot....you aren't going to last long in this league.
  18. I know they didn't...but Miami did. Which is why bragging about dominating a **** Miami team is....stupid. Miami was P5 in name only this year. Keep up
  19. Yes a 6th man/role player on a title contending team. There's nothing wrong with that, every title contending team has a player(s) that fills those roles. Let him go be Batman or Robin at Iowa and Iowa will finish mid to bottom pack of the B10 next year. Done arguing with you on this, not asking for you to agree with my opinion.
  20. I don't care that he dominated Miami, Kansas State, Vanderbilt, or Missouri. You aren't winning a B10 championship if he's the best player on your team. I've been pretty consistent on that. Not sure what dominating a 7-24 Miami team does for winning a conference title? Hopefully McCollum goes to Iowa and we can put this discussion to bed.
  21. P5 competition all year lol? Drake played one tournament team during the regular season and had one of his least efficient games of the year. 7-24 Miami was P5 in name only, they lost to Charleston Southern and Mt St Mary's for crying out loud. They sucked lol
  22. One game proved that? In the event McCollum does take the Iowa job we'll, be able to put this to bed in a year or so.
  23. Played a great game last night, never said he wasn't a good player. Dribbling the ball around and taking a shot with less than 5 seconds left on the shot clock ain't going to fly in the B10 during a 20 game conference slate. I stand by what I said, nice player but nowhere near a star for a team expected to compete for a B10 championship.
  24. Odih, MacLean, and Sisley would be the 3 high school kids Chris was alluding too. Hawthorne isn't coming to IU.
  25. MacLean and Odih have
