  1. JFC. Mike Woodson still has his job. If he was fired, he’d be out today. Good lord.
  2. Obviously. But had Woodson been “fired” as in terminated, he would be cleaning out his office as we speak. IU will not and has never done that in the middle of the season.
  3. You missed the back and forth I had with that clown last week where I clarified all that. No IU coach has ever been removed from the sideline in the middle of the season due to poor performance. @str8ballerfell for that crap after the Illinois game
  4. Kelvin Sampson resigned in the middle of the season and had nothing to do with performance. Mike Davis wasn’t fired in the middle of the season.
  5. Hmmmmm....everywhere I have worked, if someone was forced to resign, they were being fired...regardless of how many more days they were on the payroll. Resigning and Terminating (fired) from a contractual standpoint have vastly different meanings.
  6. IU will make an official announcement in the next 48 hours that “Mike Woodson is stepping down/retiring at the conclusion of the season”. Pretty standard for these types of things.
  7. Wait....he's not getting fired? They’re forcing him to resign effective at the conclusion of the season. He’s not getting escorted out of the building in the middle of the year like so many thought would happen.
  8. Except I’m not. I told you exactly how this was going to play out and it’s happening to a T. Sorry that you bought all the nonsense saying that he was going to get booted in the middle of the season.
  9. There will be some kind of official announcement before the end of the season detailing the exact exit strategy. Once that is announced, its full go.
  10. I’m not sure why you are surprised? IU has never fired a coach in the middle of the season nor will they ever, especially one of their own.
  11. Except he wasn’t “terminated” and is still calling the shots. IU will NEVER fire a coach mid-season and remove him in the middle of the year which you said was common place. Has literally never happened nor will it.
  12. Remember when you said he was going to be removed mid-season for poor performance because of prior precedent (which still to this date hasn’t happened)? Yeah, me too lol
  13. Huh? Pretty sorry I acknowledged he was stepping down at the end of the season 2-3 weeks ago. Did we really learn anything today about his future that we didn’t already know lol?
  14. Happened to stay up and watch some of the UNM/Colorado State game. Lord they're fun to watch. Their guard #2 Dent is an All-American.
  15. Because neither Beard nor his girlfriend deny that he put his hands on her. The charges being dropped are a non-starter for me. You put your hands on a woman, you shouldn't be coaching college basketball. My opinion isn't going to change.
  16. What could possibly justify laying hands on a woman? The answer is never. Looks like you're fishing for a reason to justify why Beard did what he did? No?
  17. Ok? Your situation had nothing to do with Beard's situation? What relevant point were you trying to make? Because you were falsely arrested he might have been falsely arrested? Yeah that's not what happened.
  18. The charges weren’t dropped because they were bogus. They were dropped because the State wasn’t going to waste valuable time and money prosecuting a case without a credible witness. That’s why nearly half of all DV cases go unprosecuted. Texas is a no-mandatory arrest state when it comes to domestic violence which means they aren’t obligated to arrest one or both parties unless clear and physical evidence exists.
  19. So because he didn’t knock her out it’s ok lol? What “levels” constitute laying your hands on a woman? Serious question.
  20. I can think of at least one reason why they aren't together....
  21. So much wrong with this 1) He was never found not guilty, that's not what it means when charges are dropped. In all honesty I would feel better about hiring Beard if he actually went to trial and was found not guilty. 2) The charges were dropped because the victim recanted her story and refused to cooperate. Good luck prosecuting a case where you have an uncredible star witness. 3) He was fired FOR cause at Texas and didn't even put up a fight to try and recoup nearly $25 million (that speaks volumes)
  22. An insider on the Rivals board said it had more to do with him still being under investigation and a potential lawsuit/NCAA hearing still looming.
  23. There isn't two sides to the story here. There was absolutely a physical altercation between Beard and his girlfriend. This wasn't a "he hit me...no I didn't" type deal. He absolutely battered her and then she later claimed it was in "self-defense". Forgive me for not wanting someone who has laid hands on a woman coaching IU basketball.
