I’m sure IU would have no problem funding a 2025-26 Michigan type roster if DDv showed us what Dusty did for UM last year. Shame. Ryan Carr is the hope here, because the current staff needs help with talent identification and valuation. The returning roster for next year looks awful

Let’s take a step back and assess the product and the progress this season. Been pretty bad. Offense, rebounding, hustle, leadership on the court. It’s all bad. And the highest ranked Freshman in the class can’t get on the floor, either because he’s not developing or coach doesn’t want to play him. Both are bad. This is the coach we’re going to bump up our already high NIL war chest for?! Can we see anything positive first?? I’m tired of people doing less with more in this role, over and over and over again. I think a staff being sent the message that their future NIL increases are tied to results is better for our tourney chances than an extra 2M. Again, we’re already upper echelon! Plenty will and have made it with a far lower budget. Would an extra Reed Bailey really help this year?

Don’t love the message it sends the coaching staff, but sure. A staff that’s earned nothing thus far. You’re already top 20 in NIL, go make a tourney first. Going all in on resources hasn’t even gotten us into the dance recently. Let’s motivate the staff to get there before throwing more money at it.

We’re not even reliant on threes because of the action we run. Half of these are desperation at the end of the clock. Damning.

I’ve said it before but I hate that the NIL budget is potentially going up after what transpired this year. 10M was more than enough to make the tournament and is next year too. Whatever.

If Carr is assuming a GM role then these assistants can stop trying to evaluate talent and focus on cultivating relationships once Carr/DDv identify players.
