I’m not Tommy Lloyd and am very comfortable stating he isn’t leaving Arizona to come coach IU aside from a $10mil/yr contract that IU doesn’t have to offer.

I don’t know about every coach, just know that Tommy Lloyd isn’t leaving Arizona to come coach IU with the Gonzaga job opening in the next few years.

Most things you read on a message board parrot what Dakich has been saying for the last 10-15 years that people are now just catching on. IU doesn’t care about having a winning basketball program and Dakich has been on this forefront for quite some time.

What do “politics” have to do with his assessment of the IU program in its current state? I swear some people dismiss anything he says simply because he leans a different way. He’s spot on about the culture and direction of the program and who he votes for doesn’t change that fact one iota.

Tommy Lloyd isn’t coming here. He’s Mark Few’s successor here in about 3-4 years.

And nobody should be surprised as we continued to be a middle tier B10 program.

It doesn’t matter who is here next year if Woodson is employed. He can’t win with multiple 5* recruits. Burn the entire team/staff to the ground and start over. It’s entirely possible in the portal era. See Chris Beard at Ole Miss.

Dakich hasn’t been wrong about IU basketball since the day he left regardless of his delivery.

I stand by what I said. The people who think Stevens was coming here and/or had a contract all but signed are living in a different form of reality.

There was never a $7mil/yr offer to Stevens that was legitimately on the table. IU PR puff piece. You don’t go from offering the largest contract in the history of the sport to hiring Mike Woodson as a fall back. Unfortunately a lot of people fell for it.

I wouldn’t be sad if a single player from this years team opted to not return. Not one competitive player on this team. Collectively the lowest IQ basketball team I’ve ever seen in 52 years. We SUCK and our players are soft. Doesn’t help when they’re coached by Woodson.

IU hasn’t officially been serious about basketball in 2 decades.

Alford would deliver Tom Crean like results but would likely never be a real tournament title contender. We can (and have) done a lot worse.

While he’s not Pearl or Beard, Shrews will bring Markus Burton with him and have Sisley and Mullins committed within a week. That’s at least a foundation. Both those kids want to be Hoosiers so bad but can’t risk their livelihoods with the current staff.

There’s an open scholly. Signing a guard wasn’t contingent on Walker coming here or not. He’s an upgrade over Geronimo.

Does anyone really think the idea is that farfetched? That Sampson created a horrible culture? I mean look at the kids Sampson was trying to bring in. Bud Mackey busted for trafficking cocaine IN HIGH SCHOOL, served a lengthy prison sentence, was released and busted AGAIN for trafficking meth. Eli Holman missed his entire junior season after he punched out a referee mid-game and then missed most of his senior season because he was shot in the head at a gang affiliated party. Armon Bassett has had multiple run-ins with the law the last several years. Kids were doing a lot more than simply smoking weed.

Glad you said it and not me. One caveat, if you're under the age of 12 I think it's acceptable on game day. Saw a ton of them walking around MSG in November and thought it was cringeworthy.

DePaul can (and likely will) do a lot worse than Will Wade. That dude can flat out coach.
