  1. Don't mistake my post as praise for Archie Miller. Being only slightly better than Archie Miller shouldn't earn you another year. But that seems to be our bar however. Oh and he's also black so that should count for something according to one.
  2. I'd be a lot more sympathetic towards Woodson if he was actually building and fostering a foundation and culture. He isn't. He's bringing in mercenary after mercenary and plugging them into a system with zero identity.
  3. Archie also inherited a team that lost its top 4 scorers from the year prior (on a team that wasn't very good to begin with) and didn't have the luxury of the undergrad portal.
  4. I get it. We haven't had a good coach in about 15 or so years so not a high bar to clear.
  5. Woodson had Trayce for more than one season....
  6. and 9-11 in year one. 21-19 (aka 2 games over .500) through 2 years with a 2x AA isn't anything to brag home about.
  7. And still went just two games over .500 in the B10. We finished 3 games out of first place last year in a very down B10 despite being almost a unanimous pre-season pick and are nowhere close to competing for a conference title in an even worse B10 this year. We have one recruit signed next year with a very real possibility of turning over 75% of the roster.
  8. Race-baiting on internet message boards by day, top informant by night. Is there anything you can't do?
  9. You never would have had to fire him. He was never actually the "head coach". He coached year 1 under the interim tag.
  10. Imagine thinking a coach should be judged on anything other than his actual job performance and future outlook?
  11. If it weren't for the former white coach's players, Woodson might already be fired. Woodson hasn't shown the slightest bit of clue on how to construct a roster on his own. But yes, lets take any and all opportunity to bring race into the equation. The American way these days.
  12. Just tough seeing IU's metrics jump high enough to be considered without going 7-1 down the stretch and likely needing to win a game in the BTT to get in. They're upper 90's in both NET and KenPom right now. I think they need to be on the right side of 60 to even have a chance.
  13. IU (at least in my opinion) essentially has to hold serve at home and win 1/3 on the road between Penn St/Minnesota/Maryland to even be considered a bubble team heading into the BTT. Obviously beating Purdue Saturday gives you a little more leeway but odds are still stacked heavily against us.
  14. I think we're about two weeks from mathematically eliminating Indiana's odds of an at-large bid, not that they were any good to begin with. Assuming IU loses to Purdue Saturday, I don't see any way IU is even on the bubble heading into championship weekend unless they go 7-1 down the stretch. 6-2 down the stretch and a run to the finals, maybe, but we'd need some help. Really going to regret not closing out Kansas at home.
  15. Felt like a Wednesday late night survive and advance game in the BTT. Nonetheless, happy to see the team play a full 40 minutes on the road and not roll over and die. Anthony Leal has earned a permanent role in the rotation going forward. Good on him.
  16. That's precisely what I'm talking about.
  17. Perhaps that's underlying goal with each and every hire. Sink the program as far as humanly possible with nowhere to go but up.
  18. Sisley and Mullins would have committed last year if anybody but the current staff was at IU. And they still might because that's how bad they want to play for Indiana. But the current staff is the ONLY reason why it's even up in the air.
  19. The only reason Gordon was ever committed to Illinois was because Mike Davis was Indiana's coach. It's the same reason why Oden and Conley weren't at Indiana. And IU would have gotten DaeQuan Cook and David Lighty as well had it been anybody but Mike Davis.
  20. It is a huge indictment on the administration at just how bad they are at evaluating. Davis went from inheriting and coaching a national title caliber team to landing at UAB to Texas Southern to now at a winless Detroit. Crean went to Georgia and was ousted after 4 years with a sub .400 winning % all while having the #1 draft pick for a season. Archie Miller is likely out at Rhode Island next year and unless he wants to coach in the MAAC or NEC will become big brothers Sean's towel boy for the next few seasons. And these guys all got hired at IU.
  21. It's disappointing because BEST case scenario, this was supposed to be a 3-4 year stop gap where Woodson rebuilt the program and turned the reigns over with the program in good standing. It's a very real possibility whoever takes over is going to be inheriting a situation worse than what Mike Woodson walked into, on top of paying him a lot of money to simply go away. There's going to be nothing amicable about this break up. Buckner should be forced to pay for it out of pocket.
  22. He's been out the entire year with an existing injury.
