Pre-season schedule is worrisome to prepare for regular big ten season. However, regular season over and under 12-0. Prove it wrong.

Amanda Cahill - Grengewald (Luxembourg)
TTT replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Women's Basketball
Indiana women’s basketball legend retires after long professional career Billy Heyen Jul 4, 2025 at 6:17 PM EDT After a basketball career that took her around the world, Amanda Cahill has retired. One of the greatest players in the history of the Indiana University women's basketball has played her last professional game at the age of 29. ADVERTISEMENT Cahill spent most of her pro career in Luxembourg, along with some time in Australia. "Basketball has been great to me and provided me with so many opportunities, experiences and connections," Cahill told the Sandusky Register. "I am getting married in August and just graduated with my master's in social work. I thought these life transitions were prompting me to also transition away from basketball and lean more into a different career. I plan to still be around the game, but just not as a player — as a fan and maybe one day a coach." Cahill had a prolific Hoosiers career. She scored 1,884 points from 2014-2018, which still ranks fifth in Hoosiers history. Her 1,115 rebounds are second in IU history. ADVERTISEMENT Cahill also ranks eighth in steals, with 189, and tied for fifth in blocks, with 135. In Cahill's final college game, she was a big part of Indiana's 2018 WNIT championship. Before Indiana, Cahill was one of the best high school girls basketball players Ohio had ever seen. She was the Division II state player of the year as a sophomore, junior and senior at Clyde High School in northwest Ohio. She was 99-6 as a high school player, coached by her father to two state semifinal appearances while scoring more than 2,000 points with more than 1,000 rebounds. Now, Cahill is on to the next chapter of her life, with a legendary high school career in Ohio and college career at Indiana always a part of her journey. -

Grace going back to Australia in the near future.

Well, that didn’t last long. Released after 3 days. Wonder if Grace got a little spending money and some expenses paid for her troubles/inconvenences.

Kinda reminds me of when Steve Alford was selected for the Olympic team coached by Bob Knight. That turned out rather well. -

This should/could elevate her game into stardom 2025-2026. on being selected to the 2025 USA Basketball Women’s U19 National Team! -
Another scripted fixed professional sports game because of money and profit line. Sometimes they go 7 games and sometimes they go less than 7 games depending on what is trying to be accomplished what financial prospectus looks like and need to promote popularity in society…..like fake big time professional fake wrestling.

My old age cataracts see like 3 players looking similar to Makalusky…. I do think It’s open for Makalusky to swiftly grow into one of the leadership roles in IU Ladies situation due to her character and talent level (along with Shay and Beaumont) and possibly a couple others. Makalusky if she can compete well as a freshman at big ten level…..she is a coach’s type player and she is use to it.

Grace, Holmes and others get to hang out in some cool places and play some basketball while they are still young.

Mackenzie Holmes to Seattle Storm

We want you. No we don’t. Yes we want you. Hard. Not Easy. Seattle Storm finding that Holmes is just not that easy to get rid of. Haha -
2024-2025 definitely had pot holes and lacked recruitment of more thoroughbred horses over the years caught up with IU Ladies and disabled them from continuing to reach new heights….to the extent of T. Moren BRIEFLY questioning her own future (per Indianapolis Star and Bloomington Herald Times article My take is ….very tiring maybe, or it’s just because she cares…….Be interesting to see how these road repairs work….how the new road construction will proceed, produce and perform in the future IU Ladies basketball seasons.

Does anyone know how much the total salaries (or do I mean NIL) costs for IU football players for 2025? vs let’s say other top 15 teams?
-
Linda Sayavongchanh to Colorado State like a package deal with Bargesser. Not sure how it turns out regarding IU Ladies but they have a new personality adjustment.

First day of Resistance training Phoenix and Shay looking strong with the arms.

Per ESPN 60 rank Ashlinn James 4 star at 93 Indiana PG -
Q.B. since he is going to be around may just decide sometime in the future to bring M.W. back in some capacity because of his new found professional brilliancy….. or Q.B. realizing in his own mind of his distinguished decision making In the future may have another name up his sleeve to push to bring on board. That’s the way elitism works.

Ragtag team….Interesting to see if T. Moren can become Big Ten Coach of the Year or NCAA National Coach of the Year…..along with staff and players/team development ….That would be a ‘Cinderella Never a Dull Moment story.’

In Indiana, the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) has updated its transfer rules, allowing student-athletes a one-time transfer to another IHSAA member school and maintain full athletic eligibility, as long as the transfer occurs during their first six semesters of high school. This change, effective June 1, 2025, aims to streamline the transfer process and address concerns about school choice. Indiana Education applies to athletes only and not the entire student population…..and brings into more questions about high school recruiting (which has already happened in the past whether legal or not)….. will pay for play and or financial perks/benefits (high school NIL) be in its future. (point is that athletes given preferential treatment vs rest of high school student population…who may have in their own individual minds valid reasons for streamlined transfer to another school).

I was able to read article fine. It basically says what one would already know to a large extent with observations from the season and thereafter in total. I do think if IU is going to turn things upward in a large way (T. Moren acknowledges the type of players needed in recruiting). And Colston Thompson seems to be a major upgrade added to the IU Ladies coaching staff. Additionally, L. Beaumont is a good player and T. Moren continues to talk about as last season how good she is and importance to the team. She is definitely important….but are the high expectations grasping for straws or what will become reality? T. Moren noted the new players were dissatisfied with their previous program. That could be said for IU Ladies and even coaches as well. This IU Ladies team seems to be constructed as somewhat a Rag Tag team of players with something and things to prove. Sometimes Rag Tag just works out.

My ignorance about how the nuts and bolts and how NIL works from programs to programs 1. Did IU give the men’s 2024-2025 basketball program under the previous coach, players and coaches all with major big egos so much of NIL creating conflict with the IU Ladies Basketball program leaving IU Ladies in NIL poverty? Several Ladies basketball programs of other schools have been recruiting at a significantly higher level than IU to this point in time…..and many of those schools should not be. 2. I assume NIL only applies in a significant way to major power conferences…..Mid major not much…..and small colleges not at all. NIL Revenue vs House by July 1st is still somewhat in limbo…. that will be determined or not determined clearly or vaguely or somewhat clearly or somewhat vaguely.
