  1. Right now, Allen is relying almost exclusively on transfers due to a failure on his part to develop his players, which is causing those players to realize that Indiana is a lost cause, so the only people who will play for Allen are people that, and I'll be blunt, flopped elsewhere or couldn't crack the rotation. If it wasn't for that big @$$ contract, Allen would be fired, but we instead have to contend with "how long must we deal with this?" I know that if and when Allen is sacked, most of the players will just leave Indiana anyway cause a coach firing always sees people go on the transfer portal cause they went to the school purely for the coach, but as much as supporting Indiana football is like the biblical tale of Job, the worst thing you can do to it is make us irrelevant. We can't score, we can't defend, and those two years that made us look like we're on the right track have misfired spectacularly. Indiana has always had periods where things looked miserable, but I don't think it has been as miserable as this, as back in the day, we viewed a 5-6 season going to a 3-8 season as "frustrating, but typical". We went from playing in January to losing to Rutgers.
  2. We need to emphasize more on the unbelievable athletic plays, then. It's the only way we can compete apparently. ... um, how does this make any sense? The issue with Indiana football isn't that we aren't "flashy", it's that we've always been "stinky". I'd rather us focus on solid fundamentals and not have, say, an offensive line that gets shredded immediately by the defense or a defense that is stuck having to play 40+ in game minutes every game.
  3. He's so waiting until 2025 to make a move. That's the part that depresses me.
  4. Invest. Indiana has always invested in basketball while they treated football as cheap filler. It's why any success in football has always been purely coincidental. Sure, we made adjustments to the stadium but we need to do more.
  5. Naturally, they blame everyone but Allen. Our talent sucks, and we will never recruit on par with Ohio State. But the coaching is responsible to get the players motivated and disciplined and I don't see that at all. So to put the onus on the guys entirely is a Purdue Person move.
  6. Can't wait for the post-game show where they stress how great a guy Allen is. Again.
  7. Good. He can transfer to Division III.
  8. IUPUI went 0-2 in their Iowa trip and both games weren't promising on first impressions, but when the only people that returned were bench players, I figured they'd be stinky. Monday's a real game for sickos; the Jaguars head to Chicago to play Chicago State, a team that no conference wants.
  9. Why Do We Keep Playing Them?: 63 Why Do We Keep Playing Football?: 13
  10. And more generic crap from Tom Allen after the postgame about how Grant Gremel worked really hard.
  11. Tom Allen is like a bad AI program at this point; you just feed it a random prompt and you'll get a generic answer.
  12. "Well, I think you know just, uh, it's uh, disappointing, uh... can't sustain drives... couldn't do it... the defense couldn't sustain stops. Had to use multiple quarterbacks." - Tom Allen on the postgame
  13. Those players are not getting reps under Tom Allen, that's BS.
  14. The broadcasting crew are crooning about Tom Allen's pandemic years. Like, I don't care about those anymore. I care about right now, and right now, the team is garbage.
  15. Dexter Williams got a late hit. Will be against Indiana just cause.
  16. And well as people who will let us know that we deserve hellfire for saying anything mean about him.
  17. But the Indiana beat reports tell us fans we are stupid and mean and smelly for saying bad words about Saint Tom Allen because he says kind words about his players.
  18. I just decided to watch something else, and get my laundry done.
