I predicted an IU victory, not changing it, we beat the Boilers today in overtime!

I wouldn’t be surprised if NIL contracts are on the way with clauses to recoup some of the money!

Something we can agree on, Drew is my first choice too, unless Stevens is really in play. I also like Otzelberger.

Every time someone says this and I breathe a sigh of relief, 5 more posts show up saying he would be a good choice. I hope and pray he isn’t our next coach, but if he is I will support him!

I am not going to argue about the amount of people, but there are plenty of posts supporting him, hard to miss them actually?

Cronin is the popular choice of “a lot” of people on this forum. Just read through past pages and you will find them. Even Indy Star’s Doyle is pushing Cronin, the other names you may be right about, but there are people on this forum that have shown support for guys like Brownell and Pitino. I am still hoping for an elite proven coach, but the Cronin talk is very real and I would be very disappointed if that is the direction we go.

Of course not, as long as they are actually looking at bringing in an elite coach. But if they just want to bring in a mediocre safe guy to finish in the upper third of the conference each year, why not take A shot at a guy like McCollum? Anyway, I am officially going to stop rambling on about McCollum, I know people are getting tired of reading it. I like him, but only for the above reasons, I am all about going for an elite proven winner and I hope that is the direction we take!

I’m not sure anybody is saying we should take McCollum over Stevens, Pearl, Drew, or even Buzz….but a lot of people on this forum want Cronin, Brownell, or even Pitino Jr., I think some of us would prefer taking a shot with McCollum that’s all, of course there are better, very expensive top coaches, but rumors don’t indicate that is the direction we are going?

I agree, but that is not what a lot of people who supposedly have inside info are saying. I am hearing Brownell, Cronin, and Pitino Jr..I am all for going for an elite coach and I hope that is where this is headed!

What did McCollum do to you? He can only win the games he has the opportunity to play, he’s won 80% of them! Somebody has to give a winner like this a shot, we sit back and play it safe and hire Woodson and some want Cronin, and guys like McCollum to go other schools, have great success, then we want them but it is too late, they are no longer interested in us. I’m all for paying big money and hiring Stevens, Donovan, Wright, Pearl or even Drew, but most seem to be saying we are going after Brownell or Cronin. If that is the direction we go, I’d rather take a chance on McCollum or Beard!

Maybe….but the reason I said easily is we have not fared well against teams that play very good defense. Drake has the third best scoring defense in the country. But my easily comment was probably ill-advised, just getting sick of all the anti-McCollum/Cronin knob polishing…….

Even if what you say is true, with all the advantages of IU and this being Woodson’s 4th year and McCollum’s 1st, it says a lot, and I think they beat us easily. The Vanderbilt game was at a neutral arena….
