The long bladed one!
-
Time to get a coat hanger!
-
You also have to figure in, that if Dolson really wanted May that bad, he would have fired Woody and hired him last year. Not saying he doesn’t have interest in May but the fact that he risk losing him, and it appears he did lose him, tells me he felt he would have better options at the end of this season….
-
So will Ballo play Sunday….or is this an old story?
-
-
Brad doesn’t want the job….Dusty did want the job, I hope he still does!
-
More likely the tweet just says “May not a Candidate for the IU Job” since Dusty said that he is happy at Michigan!
-
I hope this is true! If May would bolt for IU after only one season at Michigan he will be hated by Michigan fans for eternity, big deal, he gets booed every time IU plays at Michigan. I don’t think the college basketball world as a whole can/will blame him for taking his dream job. If he really wants the IU job, this may be his only chance, we might get lucky and find our coach for the next 20 years. Then again, after us bringing Woody back, he may no longer have interest in the IU job…Michigan is going to throw some big bucks and a huge buy out at him any time now, he signs that and his future is in Ann Arbor!
-
I think he said 3 years, I fully expect Woody to quote Bird on Senior Night!
-
No, there are two buyouts, one if he leaves on his own, and one if they fire him. The school would still want the buyout if he leaves on his own to be as high as possible.
-
-
Is that Dolson being kicked for not firing Woody at the end of last season?
-
I would say it is exactly that, Dusty insisted on a low buyout and Michigan countered with a lower buyout if he is fired. I wouldn’t call 70% that low but I’m sure it is lower than a lot of other coaches. Now the question is, why did Dusty insist on that low buyout? In case the Indiana job became available and they wanted him is as good an explanation as I can think of, but maybe he has his eye on another job?
-
Nothing you said explains why Michigan agreed to such a low buyout for him to leave, but a high buyout to fire him….
-
Time will tell, but Kentucky could be where we were 4 years ago…..

Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin Cronin I keep telling you guys we are being conditioned for Cronin…..before this is over we will all be shaving our heads and chanting his name!
-
Do you think Brad’s current contract with the Celtics is 10yr/$100M?
-
Funny, I had a dream we hired Cronin and I was his agent. We were standing on the tarmac waiting for Dolson to fly in with the contract to sign. Suddenly I heard a sound in the distance and then Cronin pointed at the sky and said, “da plane, da plane!”…..and then I woke up!

Truth is, in Painter’s first 10 years he made 2 sweet 16s and failed to even make the tournament 3 times….Painter would have been fired at Indiana!
-
This is probably a stupid question, but if IU is interested in Dusty May, what is the process? Do they have to ask Michigan for permission to talk to him, is May free to just meet and discuss job openings without informing anyone, or is there an unwritten code of ethics that schools normally follow? Just curious if there is a procedure.

What are you cooking Queasy?

OK, all of this is probably true, but I don’t think Michigan wins the B1G or the tournament. Probably a 6 seed and will lose in the round of 32….all just my opinion, but they have won a ton of close games that could have gone either way, I just don’t see that continuing. If I am right, it will be easier for him to move to IU. Also, it is possible that coming to IU does work out and he gets the job he has always wanted, fame, and fortune. He may only get one shot at this, a lot could happen that would make his coming here impossible. He should take the chance, because even if he fails at Indiana his coaching career wouldn’t be over, he would easily find another job and be just fine…to me it should be worth the risk!

Fran says he has no plans to retire, that was earlier in the season but I doubt anything has changed.

RMK had a good relationship with him
