That’s the thing for me. I get that no one may have a signature on a contract but I find it hard to believe that we don’t have our number one target with at least a verbal agreement. What would they still be negotiating? Parking spots and PTO days? That doesn’t mean we still aren’t doing due diligence but I can’t believe we would still be at the gathering candidates phase.

Agree with this. If we end up with Brownell, that means either Dolson loves these searches so wants to run it back in 4, or we whiffed on about 12 other coaches. I’m going with he won’t be our coach. Not worried at all.

Agree with this. I have no insider contacts, but if I did and they have gone quiet, I wouldn’t look at it as bad and I would disregard any speculation on social media. I’m not saying it won’t be McCollum. I do think that anyone reporting he is a front runner on social media is basing it on……other social media.

Agree. This is going to be like a bowl game between top teams that didn’t make the playoffs so it’s their 3rd stringers.

The out of left field comment is interesting. Because what’s out of left field to people who can’t hit refresh here fast enough is a lot different from fans who just watch TV sports shows. If it is someone who hasn’t been mentioned in this thread, that would truly be way, way out of left field.

And really, we let that Oregon game get away. We match up with them pretty well. Just keep the TOs down and we should be fine.

Because he’s isn’t that good a coach, isn’t coaching, and makes no sense other than he’s available. He’d be that that chick you convince yourself is good looking enough because it’s late and everyone else is taken.

Yep. I know an IT guy who reversed the camera in the conference room where Dolson was meeting with big time donors and other important people. They said Scott, bring Brad home. Scott said I’ve tried. He likes Boston. Wrong Brad, they said. You want our money, you bring us Brownell. And if you can’t get him, get that coach who didn’t do all that much and no school wants now.
