I’m about to head to another tribute band. That’s what us retired folks do. But some day, we may regret not hiring Beard. Now, maybe we shouldn’t based on actual, verifiable events. But something just screams….he is the guy and IU is going to **** this up again

Agree with this. It’s fun for us to speculate and I feel as down as I would if I played the lottery and lost. There are a lot of good coaches we can hire and can’t see Dolson making a bad hire.

As someone who has been very skeptical about Steven’s coming, and remain so, if all there is to it is that Steven’s quote, that doesn’t mean anything. It’s like if someone asked me if I was cheating on my wife and I said, I love my wife and am very happy in my marriage.

He might not but I’m confused as to why he wouldn’t. To not hurt Woodson? He’s leaving. It’s officially a retirement, why would Woodson care? Dolsons number one priority should be IU. Once Stevens signs, you announced it unless there is a reason Stevens wants to wait.

If the AAU coaches discussion is accurate, it seems like Dolson must feel pretty confident. Otherwise, why say that now? We all know who he means. And it’s not like repairing AAU relationships is critical right this second. I may be reading too much into it but there it is.

Agree with this. I doubt it’ll will be Beard but if it is, I’ll trust they did their due diligence. And then root like hell for IU.

Well, never too soon. But I have to imagine that this go around, Dolson is controlling things. He certainly has earned that right, so hopefully, egos stay out of this.

Has his guy as in has identified who his guy is or has him essentially wrapped up to be the next coach? I’m not impatient or anything. Just want to know right now. Won’t tell anyone else.

For those who have said the longer time goes with no extension for May, the higher the chance we are looking at him seriously is true. If I’m Michigan, I’m locking him down if at all possible.

They are laying it on thick, but if I’m watching this as a non-rabid IU fan, I’m not taking it that Dolson or IU has done anything wrong.

Well, he’s a current player. I’m referencing the comment on the game today that former players have come back in support of Woody. I’m just saying that doesn’t mean they want him to remain coach.

In the last couple of days, have former player come out and said they wanted Woodson to remain coach? I haven’t checked but I haven’t read about it. It’s entirely possible that former players are coming back to support him during a tough time because they are friends.

Well, they may not necessarily be supporting him to still be coach. They could just be there for him. He is their friend.

Did he just say it’s hard to predict how this IU team will play? Seriously, do announcers do any homework at all anymore?
