  1. I obviously wasn’t in the room, but a lot of people aside from here have discussed it. It sounded like Dolson was ready to move on - then QB got in the way and secured $4+mm in NIL for Woodson to ensure he didn’t fail this year … yet here we are.
  2. Maybe McCollum feels like he could do better at IU vs Iowa given their NIL? It’s possible Iowa already spoke to McCollum (as we think IU did) and he thinks IU is in a better place to win. just a thought. Anyway, I trust Dolson. He had Pearl and May ready to go a year ago.
  3. And for this hire, I think we really need to trust Dolson. He knows what he’s doing. This has been over a year in the works. He had May and Pearl last offseason.
  4. Unfortunately with Iowa open, it became a very big challenge to just go hire him.
  5. After listening to some interviews with him, his tempo is solely based on his personnel. He has to play this way this year bc of the guys he has. Give him a bunch of better athletes and his tempo would very well change. He adapts very well. is he a risk given his background? Definitely. But he communicates better than Archie did. The debate is if McCollum resume is better than Archie’s before he got to IU. Either way, McCollum is more impressive in interviews than Archie was when they talk bball, philosophy, etc.
  6. He hired Matta. QB hired Woodson. This hire is all $cotty D
  7. Reinsdorf doesn’t care about winning. Bulls are always near the top of attendance. Reinsdorf cares about profit. I don’t see him being fired, but I can see him wanting to go to a place where he knows he can win. Earlier this year when bulls were doing OK with an injured roster, the local sports radio guys asked “is Billy too good for this job?!?” lol Bulls are a unique place bc of Reinsdorf
  8. “Are we sure we even want Donovan anymore? He hasn’t coached in colllege in 15 years and NIL is a whole new era. Plus his age … give me an up and comer like McCollum” - Half of Indiana fanbase
  9. People still claim he is the best coach in the State
  10. NBA coaches have such a better lifestyle. But Bulls are going nowhere any time soon.
  11. Blackhawks are in a tank-a-thon, but Bears finally are headed in the right direction (hopefully)
  12. Bulls are in NBA purgatory. Reinsdorf sucks.
  13. Yup. NCAA protected bball schools. MSU, UNC, Duke, Kansas, etc. The year Wade and Miller got busted, High Point University got hammered the worst.
  14. Minnesota is a desirable job too. All of these historically, lower level Big Ten and $EC programs are extremely desirable now due to the revenue sharing.
  15. Nothing will be announced until season is over. I’m certain, part of Woodys force out, he wanted nothing released until season is over so everyone can focus on the season. Announcing a new coach in Feb or now would’ve just been a major distraction for the team.
  16. @Chris007 mentioned he was previously contacted and iu mentioned some large figures … but he just simply wasn’t interested at all.
  17. Dolson hired Matta with Fife. QB forced the Woodson hire. Hence our three-headed debacle year 1. what’s never been confirmed is if Archie’s buyout was quid pro quo from QB to hire Stevens or Woodson - or if Dolson went rogue and hired Matta/Fife.
  18. I think in Ben’s case, Iowa is home. I’m sure he feels like he can win there. His roots and emotional ties to Iowa outweigh Indiana. I understand what you’re saying, but I think in this specific case, he doesn’t dislike IU, it’s just that Iowa is home for him.
  19. Allegedly May and Pearl each would’ve taken the job last offseason, but QB interfered - again. I believe that’s where the May speculation, rightfully if true, started. Plus his original buyout at UM could’ve supported that.
  20. Hopefully he’s not a Crean 2.0 and insecure about everything
  21. Pretty sure I am/was in the camp on 3 of those 4 …
  22. As @Chris007 mentioned, talking to a handful of candidates is part of the process for a variety of reasons.
  23. Yup. He’s happy. BUT - I think he’d leave for the right job/fit - not just anywhere to get a raise. IU would be a place he’d be interested in.
