yes it is quite the deal. I am a high school teacher. I have had this thread open all day. This afternoon during my prep a student came to get some help from me. While I was helping them my computer kept dinging from new replies in this thread. The student even commented that my computer was sure making a lot of noise, lol. And all the while I am helping this student I am wondering if there is some type of news in this coaching search. The struggle is real.

Moser is a prisoner of the moment type situation. Everyone is impressed with their 2 wins in the tournament, especially how they dismantled Illinois. If it is last year when they lost as the 1 seed in their conf tournament no one is even mentioning his name for the IU job. I don't think Dolson is going to be impressed by such a guy.

Players are going to the portal. It is happening everywhere. Means nothing at the moment. Just giving themselves options. The big kid at Georgetown is in the portal and their coaching situation is fine. It happens. Need to stop freaking out over it.

Just my opinion, but with Woodson we know exactly who he is and what we would get and I just dont see him translating to the college game well. Maybe that is completely off, but it is how I view it. With CC there is a lot of unknowns, but there is the potential for it to go really well. Way more so than with Woodson. Now if I have my preference neither of them is the coach. I would be much happier if CC is associate head coach or an assistant.

That would be a great situation IMO. Much better than him just being the head coach.

I love Calbert, he is one of my all time favorite players. I just worry about his lack of experience coaching and the possibilty of things going bad for him and hurting his legacy at IU. Too good of a guy and player for that to happen. But I would still take him over Woodson!

But it does nothing to solve the problems the Cs have been having. That is the point

I feel bad for Matta. That has to be horrible. He knows he is not able to physically do the job, yet his mind still wants it so bad.

Sure to an extent, but it would ring really hollow.

If it is Woodson there is an upside to that fact that guys like DD will finally get to see if they are right and we can move past that. He would be the IU guy connected to Knight that would have his chance. If he wins everything will be good and guys like DD can brag they were right, but everyone will be happy. If it goes bad then guys like DD will be shut down because they had their shot with an IU guy. I hope we dont see that happen, but at least there will be a small upside

I dont think that is true. He has spoken highly of Smart, Chaney, Woodson and Fife. Alford is obviously his first choice, but I think he would be happy with any former player.

I would be better with it than just Woodson, but that is never going to happen. Fife has a great place at MSU right now and can wait on Izzo to be done. No need to move laterally to IU.

Let's not go overboard on the Moser love. He has had a nice run this year and their previous final four run. But let's not forget that they lost in the first round of the MVC as a 1 seed and failed to make the tournament another year with a loaded team and the reigning player of the year in the MVC
