Kevin Easley Jr entered the portal. From Indianapolis. Had a huge freshman year at Chatanooga before transferring to TCU. Had a meh year there. Just bring him up bc he’s 6’7 225 and seems to fit the mold Woodson goes after. Only shot 25% from 3 on 2 attempts per game but his freshman year at chatanooga he shot over 39% on 4.3 attempts per game.

I don’t think it’s ever going to happen but if Race does want to go closer to home I’d be perfectly fine with a Robbins for Race swap. Frankly I’d love to have Robbins anyway. He could stretch the floor as a big. Allow TJD to play down low. When Joey comes in allows TJD to move out. Would also allow for Hunter, Geronimo, etc to play the 3 and have a much taller lineup.

Correct. Scholarship numbers don’t count for seniors staying at the same school. Brunk wouldn’t count against IU but Durham sill count against Providence total. Everyone else on the roster essentially received a redshirt for last year.

Maybe they should make it like open recruiting periods and allow them to make campus visits but each school is only allowed so many. Or like you state a 1 month open window. I agree a free for all is horrible. NCAA will finally be getting rid of one and some thanks to the NBA changing their rules and then this will happen. I’m fine with a no sit transfer if the coach changes jobs. It’ll be really interesting once these players can earn money on their likeness.

I think this is where Matta comes into play. I’m sure he’s watched a ton of college basketball and knows who is out there. Once speaking with Mike on what he’s looking for I’m sure he can make a short list of guys that could be focused on along with Roberts and Hunter having list. They aren’t going to Crean it and offer everyone in the portal and see who says yes.

Yep I looked at an old one. Most updated on ESPN has Ayo as 22nd prospect, TJD at 81 and Cockburn not even in the top 100 but I could see Franklin being intrigued on taking on that role. Similar style player as Ayo.

Not saying those guys won’t go pro but according to Givony on ESPN the only one getting drafted in either round is TJD. Ayo and Kofi aren’t even projected. So unless they hire agents they could come back. I haven’t heard if they’re hiring agents.

Being sold to being Ayo’s replacement. Pretty intriguing to be the guy to try and take the role of the 20ppg guy.

I’ve been thinking about this and wished that BTN would allow for multiple broadcast with each team having their own broadcast. Like NBA/MLB etc. Maybe I’m in the minority, but I’d pay for that service like I do for MLB network. Would be a lot better than Bardo who could just go to Illinois games all season.

I’m all aboard the BFS train but next week seems more likely. I can’t imagine a team who makes trades at the deadline not even waiting for those players to arrive and the coach and team splitting. I think he gets a few games with Fournier and the next skid they’ll part ways. May even be after next weekend.

Not sure if anyone’s watching the game but Jay Williams talked during halftime show about how Tatum is MVP caliber, Brown is good and he thinks it’s a coaching issue with Brad Stevens falling on deaf ears. National media starting to say BS has lost the Celtics.

NBA has a playoff for the 8 seed now so places 8-10 all have opportunity. That being said I think the Pacers with a healthy Levert and the Bulls got better today while Celtics at most only slightly got better. They’ll still have an opportunity to play for the playoffs even if falling to 10

Anyone else feel like IU is going to consistently be used for other coaches to get raises at their existing school? Would love Oats but between his buyout and the pockets to give him a raise at Alabama he seems unlikely IMO.

I’m with you. I don’t think any one of the 3-4 candidates are head and shoulders above the rest. Each of them have their cons. Hopefully, we get one of them and don’t have to go to option 5.
