That’s fair, I thought Race guarded EJ and vice versa but I’ve been wrong often before.

I don’t know which ones are the best but a quick scan of various posted mock drafts have TJD as high as 47 (bleacher report) to outside the top 60. So basically mid to late second rounder best case, to worse case going undrafted. Unfortunately my bet would be the latter. Name 1 game in his career he outplayed someone of equal or higher talent.

Hear me out on this….what if Geronimo’s minutes didn’t come from Stewart/Kopp but they came from Race. In fact, as much as I like Race’s game, his game outside of 8 feet is the same as TJD. That bogs our O down as well. Think of all Race’s open threes. Now the defense would have to guard that with Jordan at the 4, and might eliminate the doubles on TJD. I’d move Parker to the 3, start Trey at the 2. Takes Parker off the opposing 2. I feel Parker’s shooting is better than Kopps and with the other 4 in that lineup you can hide his D.

Something that I think has been overlooked, not only the importance of Rob playing to his potential, but this team learning to play and close out without TJD the last 2 games (sans tonight’s last 2 minutes). I think that raises everyone’s confidence. Great win for the team!

re: the line, I’m a fairly active gambler online, with it now at -3.5 I’m thinking tOSU might have some Covid issues. Just pure speculation on my part. It also could just be more and more bets are coming in on the Hoosiers to cover. Again, I’m unfortunately skeptical….

IMO, it’s a lack of talent in our 1-3 positions. None of our 1-3 starters or bench players would start for any top 25 team. It’s really as simple as that. None of them can create for their own shot, except maybe Bates. None of them can break a guy down for an easier entry pass. And none of them possess high basketball IQ either. My solution, change of lineup. Rob has outplayed X the last month. Rob, Bates, Stewart, Race, TJD. Kopp and Stewart are too much alike and shouldn’t start as wings together. Bates brings more athleticism. Kopp first man off the bench for Race. Yes we’ll lose rebounding, but that allows a true 4 out. Race subs back in for TJD when he needs a breather. TJD shouldn’t play less than 34 minutes unless in foul trouble. Rob (I know his past, I’m a huge critic, but he’s been outplaying X recently) Bates and Geronimo need to play more. Kopp and X less.

And we’re not very good at throwing it into TJD when he’s got position.

I’ll admit I was yelling at the tv in the 2nd half and felt it slipping away when they cut it under 10, but man, some of you need to back away from the ledge. Yes, plenty of blame to go around, but some of you would have wanted to get rid of RMK after various losses. Hopefully both coaches and players learn from tonight and we get better. Still plenty of basketball to play.

Having IU team total over 74.5, I second this. Missed free throws and layups killed what should have been a winnable bet.
