That guy has been saying Drew for a few weeks. It's known that Beard really wants the job, it's also known he won't get it.
-
Why does it bother you so much if people think IU has a chance of landing Stevens? You do realize that what happens on this has no real effect on the coaching search, right? So people wasting time talking about Stevens doesn't mean IU is wasting time trying to get Stevens.
-
Dude, it's Hornsby. Most of his posts are so over the top ridiculous. It's what he does. He's probably hoping the hire will be Bronwell (who everyone else knows as Brownell) so he can continue his schtick.
-
I love how the Peegs guys try to play it both ways and contradict themselves in the same post. Doesn't want to be in a fishbowl but if he left it would be for a school like IU.
-
Some interesting info from Rabjohns. He said that he doesn't think any school paid more than $2M buyout to hire a coach in the last 5 cycles. I hope IU doesn't go cheap and rule out a really good coach that they have a chance of hiring because the buyout is, say, $4M instead of $2M or less.

Extremely unlikely he'll be granted another year.
-
@Stuhoo was the conductor of the Shrewsberry train until this season. I think he's hopped off.
-
It doesn't matter who we're talking about as legitimate options. It matters who they're talking about as legitimate options. The coaching search isn't happening on message boards. Anyone can suggest anyone and it won't matter in the end.

Good.

I'm still not convinced it isn't Ant Wright trolling us.

I don't see what he's done as overachieving. What Scott Drew has done at Baylor is overachieving, even if you don't count the NC. What Brownell's done I call just enough to not get fired from a school with low expectations. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this. Hopefully, neither he nor Collins gets hired as the next IU coach so it's all moot.

Sisley's dad is only 18!? Holy crap, how'd that happen?
-
Might win a **** ton of games? Based on what? Certainly not his record to date. He'll magically become a better coach at IU which is also in a better conference? I'm not convinced Collins would win a ton at IU, either. Better than at NW? Maybe, but that's not saying much. I don't think he would be significantly better. At some point, their records pretty accurately reflect their talent. I think that is the case with both.

Yep, he has multiple good years. Still, 3 out 15 is pretty underwhelming. TBH, I think even 3 is a stretch. He had a good run in the tournament but the regular season wasn't spectacular. A good one for him but was still just 11-9 in the ACC for 5th place. The only year he had single digit losses was the COVID year when they played only 24 games and lost 8 of them. This current season is by far the best regular season he's ever had. Such a hard pass from me. He would be an incredibly disappointing hire. I'd view it as IU throwing in the towel on basketball and saying just being okay is okay.

Complete list of players I would miss if they didn't return next year:

Is there a CliffsNotes available for this?

Let's be real. He's only won 1 national championship. Sure it was at Baylor which was historically bad before him. But how impressive is that really? It's still just 1 championship. We need our next coach to have at least 2 of those under his belt to be happy with the hire. /s Seriously, though, I don't understand how anyone could look at his record at Baylor and say no thanks. Maybe they don't like something else about him but his record? 5 seed once, 3 seed 6 times, 1 seed twice. 2 S16, 2 EE, 1 NC. Even when he missed the tournament he went to the NIT final twice, winning once.
-
That's part of the purpose of a search firm. They do all of the initial contacting so the school only gets involved when they have someone where there is legitimate mutual interest. The school can then say, with a straight face, this was our first and only one. We talked to no one else.

Only partially believable. The part I do believe is that Whitten would say no way to hiring Facial Hair. I don't believe that Dolson proposed hiring him. Which poster was it?
-
Maybe, maybe not. I do think you're just here to troll us with Mark Turgeon talk.
-
Coincidence those happened on the same day? I think not. You say it's not you? You didn't start that rumor just to be able to make that tweet? Wright, wright, sure.

Good advice, Ant.

After listening to this, I want TJ Otzelberger even more. Already had great defense on his teams and now the offense is getting there. Doesn't just concentrate on just on side of the court. https://crimsoncast.substack.com/p/ep-1202-a-rivalry-win-and-evaluating They talk about Otzelberger, McDermott, Buzz Williams, and Tommy Lloyd. Candidate talk starts at about 28 minutes. Before that is the Purdue game and a bit about May's extension.
-
One thing that did come from that is that he thinks that Dolson will hire an offensively minded coach. As long as that coach can also have his teams play at least a very good defense, I'd be happy with that. We don't need Crean 2.0 with good offense and bad defense. He's the article he was basing all of that on: https://www.foxsports.com/stories/college-basketball/how-dan-hurley-fashioned-uconn-into-an-offensive-juggernaut-and-repeat-title-contender
