With Brownell you have a good idea of what you're getting which is double digit losses every year, not competing for B1G titles, and missing the NCAAT more often than not. It's no coincidence that the ACC is terrible this year but it's also his best season. McCollum is a big risk, but he has won at a very high level until now so this he's viewed at having more potential. High risk/high reward type of hire.

Dolson: "I listened to the fans. They kept saying they wanted Brad so I went and hired Brad. It took a huge 6 year, $66M contract to get it done but we did it. I don't understand why everyone is upset now."
-
I can't imagine looking at this and saying, "That's the guy we need. He'll compete at a high level in the B1G."
-
If those are the options my order would be:: Devries McGollum Not Brownell
-
Brownell

Don't forget the UK40-0 shirts. They're a classic.
-
IU not wanting Will Wade just means that IU doesn't want Will Wade. It doesn't mean they have a big time hire. They just might not like the risk he brings.

Guess who's back, back again KwaC is back, tell a friend Guess who's back, guess who's back Guess who's back, guess who's back Guess who's back, guess who's back Guess who's back

Even if IU makes it that only adds a few days to the wait.

Tomorrow, 3 PM, Fox

I bet that will change for revenue sharing. We'll see.

You're not a Vogon, by any chance?
-
Yes, the whole university is, not just the athletic department. There was a miscalculation in their financials that left them with a huge deficit.
-
They do both have about the same P4 conference winning percentage at 53%. Brownell actually has more recent success than Beard since his E8 was last year while Beard's FF was 6 years ago. They're both pretty unimpressive coaches.
-
Maybe the mystery coach that no one is talking about is .... wait for it ... wait for it ... Matt Painter
-
Nothing says "I've lost this discussion" quite like this post. An inability to articulate your point plus a pair of insults thrown in.
-
You're right, we don't know. With Beard it very well could be that they looked at his 52% P4 conference winning record instead of his off the court issues and said, "no, thanks." With Wade, it was very likely that he still had 1+ year left on his show cause. At the end of the day, whatever the reason, those schools decided they would rather hire a pair of coaches with 0 combined NCAAT wins instead of Beard or Wade.

It's what the peegs crew say about McDermott. It's safe to say that while they don't have the best info, they're certainly more informed than Joe Schmoe on a message board.
-
Wade knowingly and intentionally broke the NCAA rules. When he got caught, he compounded the problem by lying. This last part is what earned him the show cause, just like Sampson. It really makes one question his morals and ability to make ethical decisions. Yes, what he did is now allowed but what's to say he won't break some other rule which he deems inconvenient? I wouldn't have a problem with it if IU were to hire him but I can totally understand why they won't.
-
It's also thought by some that McDermott would take the job but there hasn't really been contact between IU and him/his agent.
-
The peegs crew released an updated hot board. The big takeaway from that is that Clemson is working on an extension for Brownell. Sign that ****, Brad! They also say that they're hearing Collins a lot in the last few days.
-
It seems strange to me for a guy who blames the fans to spend so much time on message boards talking to fans. People do strange things. /shrug
-
I wasn't referring to you or really anyone else on this board. I was referring to some journalists and talking heads. I also don't think it's Stevens. I didn't buy that talk even last time.
-
That's odd since we're told we're delusional for thinking IU might be a somewhat desirable job.
