No Walker visit is fine by me... not getting to a full 13 scholarships, is not. If they don't get to 12, that should be unacceptable... total malpractice in back to back years. They've got to get it right this time around... please help us basketball gods

Just searching for reasons to believe they'll lose lol. I'm concerned about Bama getting hot and upsetting UConn. But if it ends up being UConn vs Purdue, I'm pretty confident UConn will run away with it. Becoming a huge Huskies fan for the next 8 days

NC State has 4 graduates and a senior in the starting lineup... I like that. Lol

Not a strong showing from the stripes in todays elite 8 games IMO.

Burns vs Edey could be fun I guess...

Not really related to this conversation but I regret to report Daniel Jacobson, the 7 footer they have signed coming in next year, is really REALLY good... We may hate his era as much as Edey by the end of it, though they do have very different play styles

Even without it, I think Clingan and Johnson surprise with their ability to hold their own. Not necessarily win head to head or "stop" him a ton but slow him down just a little and make their own impact on offense. I also think Hurley coming off a title and being the maniac he is on the sidelines, will get his way more than a lot of other coaches do. Not all of the time... but more often. It could be a competitive game but at the end of the day I think UConn has a way better team / supporting cast and trust Hurleys ability to scheme a good gameplan/make adjustments. I mean they absolutely destroyed B10 tournament champs Illinois while Purdue just slipped past Tennessee. Painter is good too but I just think their roster makes them way more one dimensional. Never say never, but my gut feel (which could and has been wrong plenty before) is the final score wouldn't be particularly close in the end, even if it is competitive for 20-30 minutes.

Edey won't get away with the same amount of stuff with Clingan on him, I don't think Hurley will allow it... maybe I'm giving him too much credit though. I do think Samson Johnson could have a surprisingly good day, maybe the x-factor IMO. I trust Hurley and staff to scheme for Purdue just fine, assuming Bama doesn't get hot... which definitely could happen. And no guarantee PU gets by their next opponent either. In a way, it will be sweeter if they play for the title and lose to UConn so they have no excuses about this year. Just losing to a better team.

Let's go Vols baby! To each their own... but I can't imagine being in Indiana, living amongst PU fans as an IU fan, and rooting for them to win it all... Won't you get sick of them throwing it in your face for the foreseeable future nonstop? May I remind you what Loyer said after beating us at AH this year? Personally... I hope Tennessee does 'em worse than UConn did Illinois, if that's at all possible.

Purdue players love whining when the officials aren't playing 8 v 5 with them (sure almost every team's players are guilty of that but Purdue's act so offended by it, I can't help but laugh). Painter seems okay, I'll admit

Unpopular opinion, I don't like Zach Edey whatsoever actually. Don't find anything about him or Purdue remotely redeeming or appealing lol

Keeping sophomore Mackenzie is great for a lot of reasons, but one big one that stands out to me... JHS made the right call going pro when he did, but we sure could've used him this year. I know I lamented plenty of times how different things would be if we had him on the roster. As good as he was, as a sophomore he would've been that much better. It helps to have players go pro but we also want to reap some of the benefits of their growth while they're here. Now we get to do that with Mack, and I for one feel we are very fortunate because of that.

I hope Cupps plays sparingly next year, but I think he can work his way into a role if he becomes a great catch and shoot threat. If he can stay active moving off the ball and continues improving as a shooter, I think he may be more effective in that role than as a primary ball handler/playmaker.

I think he will be the three level scoring threat many hoped for when we first signed him next season. And defense may not be the strength of his game, but I think he will have his fair share of moments on that side of the ball too. He's got the physical tools and was getting it figured out toward the end of the year. Could have a special sophomore campaign.

Best news yet this offseason IMO. One and done was the goal... but "two and through" will do This is huge for next year's team. Let's get some studs in the backcourt + a rim protector, and roll.

Maybe an unpopular opinion but since he took the UM job, I really don't care to see Dusty succeed from here on out. I don't think we'd be able to hire him away if he is successful, and I don't want him kicking our butts for his entire tenure there. This ship has sailed, likely forever IMO, and sadly he got on board at a conference rival. I don't think he's necessarily the next big thing, but I do think he will eventually grow to be a pain in our sides for a few years. Here's to hoping we find our guy for the long term, when the time comes.

One more thought on this... if it happens... look out for Hurley being on the refs butts early about any whistles down low. I think it will be peak Hurley entertainment on the sidelines pleading his case about not getting Clingan/Johnson in foul trouble, probably before they even tip off lol

Gotta feel bad for the kid. On the one hand, I feel like Houston may have been the best bet to stop PU getting to the chip. On the other hand, Duke probably has more raw talent... so if they can beat NC State, and if PU gets past Tennessee (Knecht may drop 30-40 lol), Duke may have a better shot. Man I don't want to see them even get the chance.

Telling players where they could go to get free stuff, hooking them up with jobs, etc. That's just what I've seen referenced on this board before, don't have specific examples. Before my time... very sadly...

It would be a good game! I think UConn will have their hands full with UConn today and don't think Bama will be an easy out either (assuming they beat Clemson). Rooting hard for Tennessee. I think Duke will beat NC State... shame about Houston's leader going down in the first half. That might have been the best bet at stopping PU from getting to the title game. Don't think it's a given though... love March Madness!

Yeah, but Clingan is not the focus of their offense. He doesn't have to beat Edey, just make him not his usual self. Karaban, Newton, Castle, and Spencer + Samson Johnson and a few other bench pieces are going to be able to get mismatches. Dont get me wrong, Purdue could win vs UConn, but I don't think UConn will rely nearly as much on Clingan to win as PU will on Edey

Really sucks to see the tears from our team. What a DOG FIGHT! Please don't hang your heads ladies... you still made Hoosier nation extremely proud tonight. Gut wrenching for the seniors. What a program CTM has built. Never let her leave.
