It isn't because they put us behind Kansas and Louisville and a few other schools... It's that they are a crap company who gives out crap apparel to fans, gives zero creativity on the court, crap shoes, zero leverage in recruiting. We get treated by Adidas like the junk that accidentally falls out behind the junk drawer. Forgotten.

Well good think Indiana has an exciting football future to offer in a deal now.
-
Oh so you think will now sign a deal that's when double Louisvilles from 2017?
-
Do you? Louisville got a 10 year just like Indiana and it almost doubled IUs contract with Adidas just two years after the fact. Kansas got a 14 year deal.
-
The only argument for Adidas is "this is what we've been doing so it's fine."
-
And we've gotten well surpassed since then. Louisville and Kansas signed their deal just 2 years after we did. We are a nobody to Adidas. No reason to stick with them. Champion could do better and I'm not even sure they make products anymore.
-
Forbes. Forbes made a Top 10 for schools and their deals back in 2019. UCLA at the time was #1 with Under Armour. Louisville #2 with Adidas. Kansas #4. Washington #6. Nebraska #7. As far as Big Ten teams... 1. UCLA(Under Armour) 5. Michigan(Nike/Jordan) 6. Washington(Adidas) 7. Nebraska(Adidas) 8. Ohio State(Nike) 9. Wisconsin(Under Armour)
-
Uhh... Because Indiana is behind those schools? At least as of 2019. Louisville, Kansas, Nebraska, Washington all have bigger contracts.
-
Did anyone else know that there are now 9... NINE... Big Ten with script letter jerseys... And Indiana somehow isn't one of them.
-
With a rising women's basketball program, it's important. Remember that last time we went to the Final Four?
-
Both. Better products and way bigger stars along with being THE brand of the NFL, NBA and WNBA. As far as Indiana deal goes, it is currently behind at least Louisville, Kansas and Nebraska. Edit: also behind Washington.
-
Adidas doesn't see value in Indiana. They see value in Kansas. They see an easy and cheap contract with Indiana. Indiana signed an extension in 2015-2024 of 53.6 million or about 6.7 million per year. That's it. Indiana is WAAAAAAY behind Louisville and Kansas when it comes to Adidas.

It isn't an opinion that Nike is a more successful company and preferred by more people.
-
You should check to see how you have that's actually Adidas.
-
It isn't just getting pulled out of my a$$. It's just using simple logic. Even if we didn't switch to Nike, you use leaving for them as leverage. Indiana doesn't. Indiana has accepted just being a joke and afterthought. There is a reason Indiana apparel from Adidas sucks. Now who puts out something better? What's a brand that has more consumers and preferred by more consumers? Oh yea... Nike! Would it take a few years? Sure. But you don't have successful business without taking risk.
-
The potential earnings from Nike outweigh the initial loss. Pretty simple. Nike is preferred over Adidas by most people. The problem is, Indiana is ran by shortsighted morons. It couldn't be an easier to sell Indiana but for some reason they make it really difficult. Nike would likely be more than willing to push out apparel and gear for the largest college basketball fan base in the country.

And there will be an insane amount of excuses... Though IU podcast haven't been sugar coating things like they have in the past. But I'm sure they'll end up making whatever excuse they need to make it seem okay. -

Based on the fact that Nike is a better seller domestically than Adidas. Better gear, better apparel, better shoes etc. We've peaked with Adidas. Indiana joined with Nike would end up making more profit down the road than they ever could with Adidas. We are the "#2 basketball school" yet we are complete after thoughts to the company.
-
Yea... Getting paid that now means absolutely nothing. Nike would pay off more in the long run. Way more. And it wouldn't be close.

I am pretty sure they tried cream in 2014 during the Big Ten tourney. Wasn't great and wasn't the worst thing I have ever seen. I think something bolder around the shoulders and neck(and no v-neck) and bottom of shorts would work. Along with some red and white striping down the sides. I honestly think I'd do some white numbers and letters though with red outlining though and white logos(no stars).
-
They definitely have to be done correctly to work.

I agree with this. And have said it for years. You can keep Assembly Hall. Turn it into a campus used building and museum.
