  1. Like the 50s probably. But 1938-1939 was the birth of modern day college basketball. NIT started the year before I believe. Had the prestige only because it was based in NYC. At least from what I can remember of it.
  2. I don't think they'll be #1... Not after that 16 point whooping.. me thinks it'll be UConn or Kentucky. At least that's who I'd put up there.
  3. On to the next one... 2-2 would be fantastic over the next 4... A win over Purdue would be the most amazing thing ever. And a win over Iowa for once. I don't expect road wins this year at this point. Win your home games and you'll be in a good spot. Think we have 9 winnable left. Gotta get to 11 or 12 conference wins or we will be sweating come selection Sunday.
  4. A waste of space on the bench. But we are playing well tonight! Wooo!
  5. I really wonder what it was that made him not want to come back. I would have much rather had him over Stewart.
  6. Then someone needs to tell CJ to get his @$$ in the gym.
  7. But we are talking about two different coaching staffs and philosophies... I don't think Dipo becomes Dipo under Woody. Crean had something there. Whatever it was.
  8. It's one thing for Dipo, Yogi, Blackmon to pull up from 17 feet... It's another when Gunn does it.
  9. I think I've had them out for the past 2 weeks. FAU dropped out as well.
  10. I'd like to see... Galloway Gunn Mgbako Reneau Ware Bench: X, Walker, Leal. If X is having a bad or X and Galloway are in foul trouble, play Cupps. No one else. No need to try and go 10-11 deep. Keep it at 8, maybe 9 if needed.
  11. Instilling confidence in your players. Jimmy SEC brought it up during the Auburn game about how Pearl does it. I don't feel Woody does that. It should be burned into these dudes brains, if you're wide open, shoot the ball. Hell shoot the ball if you're just open any. I think Cream was the same. If you have space, shoot the ball. Our guys only do if they are wide wide open.
  12. I don't think he's gotten the run, green light or confidence given to him to do so. I understand where he is mentally there.
  13. Leal is 6-5 210. Size isn't an issue. And it's been said before by players in the past that Leal was arguably the strongest dude on the team.
  14. I think it's the "here and there part." Like that doesn't sound like a positive to me at all.
  15. So they are athletic... But not actually providing positives. Banks is just bad. Period. He shouldn't be seeing minutes at all, especially since we already have an older him in Anthony Walker playing. And neither can shoot the ball. I'd rather see Leal take Banks minutes over anyone. Banks is just bad. Gunn is surprisingly shooting 33% from 3 but also 34% inside the 3(because he takes a lot of bad pull up 2s). I don't care about how athletic dudes are. Your athleticism is literally useless if you can't actually play the game.
  16. Must have been Louisvilles secret.
  17. They get minutes because of being athletic and not being better basketball players. Kinda sounds like a problem.
  18. No he isn't. Gunn plays more. That's about it. He's definitely a better athlete, but for every good play he makes, he makes a stupid one. He might get a get steal, but he'll get blown by his dude as well... So much for that athleticism eh?
  19. People say he's not a great skills later, but he has equally as good ball handling as a Gunn, Mgbako and Banks. Yet those guys play ahead of him. His court IQ and communication is key. It's something that is non existent with everyone else.
  20. Tell that to CJ Gunn, Kaleb Banks and Jordan Geronimo and Hanner Perea.
  21. PUT HIM ON THE FLOOR WHERE HE BELONGS.
  22. His lack of physical traits is literally the worst excuse on the planet.
  23. Twice. Most is 6 in a 7 point loss to Wisconsin his freshman year. He played 35 minutes. Then his sophomore year he shot 5 in that game against Northwestern when half the team was suspended.
  24. I think 90% of people here could coach just as well. People get tricked by him being an NBA coach and blah blah blah. But he isn't a good coach. That's pretty evident. I think 90% on this board wouldn't continue every game making the same stupid mistake of subbing out 4 dudes because it never works.
