  1. People on this site said Purdue would suck. No way they'd be better than Indiana... Yet look where we are... They are a Top 5 seed right now.. Indiana on the bubble and trending down... Disgusting.
  2. It can. It just hasn't in years. Personally I'd say the last great year was 2012-2013. Oddly enough, the last season of the Big East as we knew it. I think that started a domino that's greatly hurt college basketball. This year though... Indiana, North Carolina, Kentucky, Duke, Syracuse.. just not as good as they should be. And whether anyone likes it or not, college basketball is hurt when those programs aren't good or the majority of them are good. It's great to have a Baylor but the Big 12 really needs Kansas and Kansas is still really good. The Big Ten needs Indiana and Michigan State. The ACC needs Duke and North Carolina. The Pac12 needs UCLA and Arizona. Then the MWC has just went downhill when at one time you could point to San Diego State, UNLV, BYU, Nevada and New Mexico are good teams. Then Creighton and Wichita State leaving the MVC has hurt college basketball. And college basketball just hasn't been able to adjust since then. And I think standards from fans have went down as well. "Good losses" have become a thing which doesn't even make sense. Then the NET garbage. Things just are great right now. Maybe in 5 years it'll all balance out again.
  3. Are you saying the quality of basketball can't go up and down?
  4. We are seeing more sub .500 conference teams the last few years get into the tourney is one big thing. But it isn't just the one and done rule, conference realignment has arguably hurt college basketball the most.
  5. Still counts on teams records.
  6. No surprise. Dude is absolutely clueless as to our biggest problems.
  7. That's wrong actually. Teams play D2 teams that count on their record. So it isn't going to be .500. A little over likely. But it doesn't mean the quality isn't getting worse and worse. The one and done rule and conference realignment is showing its impact in an ugly way.
  8. This is what we get from our coach.. as if he doesn't control who is on the floor.. a coach who found 28 minutes for Al Durham and 27 for Galloway.
  9. It's a good resume for another NIT. Because if that's an NCAA tourney resume, then college basketball has continued to get worse.
  10. You're saying that our awesome resume is built on beating a 7-6(3-4) Providence, a 4-7(3-) Butler, 8-5(4-3) Stanford and 8-6(2-5) Maryland? Do you see how pathetic of a resume that is?
  11. Maryland and Butler aren't anything to gloat about. None of those wins are actually.
  12. I absolutely hate conference tourneys, but not winning it in 2013 pretty much sealed our date to not win a title.. that and Crean not knowing Cuse would play zone... A team he coached against in the Big East.
  13. Is the field just that bad this year?
  14. I don't pay to go to games now. Why would I if this crap continues?
  15. It's honestly getting to the point where.. why should we fans give two sh!ts? They don't care to win and compete on a national stage or even in conference, so why should we continue caring so much? Eventually they'll learn when Assembly Hall is empty.
  16. They won't hire a coach who can win either sooo...
  17. I'd have the same interest as I do now unless we were winning.
  18. True. But Calipari is never leaving Kentucky and they are never during him.
  19. His best role would be coming off the bench right now. Leal should be starting and it's time to finally make that happen. I think a combo of Durham and Galloway would be our best bets off the bench.
  20. Currently no. Not in any way. No signature wins. This team has to make a lot of noise the rest of the season. And I don't care that we lost to good teams. That doesn't help the resume. Those are still losses. I'm sick and tired of the moral victories. It's year 4, you lost and thats bad.
  21. After almost 20 years, I'd move on.
  22. And still did better than Archie has at IU.
  23. I don't think Mike White is that good of a choice. He's had one good year at Florida. Hes finished 9-9, 14-4, 11-7, 9-9, 11-7 and is 3-3 right now in the SEC. He seems like another Archie.
  24. Why? Indiana has the donors to make it not matter. Just gotta ask. Mark Cuban could pay it himself. Not sure if Cook donates anymore, but I'd be getting Carl Cook on the phone pretty quick too.
  25. He does have as many Sweet 16s as Indiana does the last 25 years... He did somehow make New Mexico really good in a time the Mountain was actually really good. What he did at UCLA would have given him an auto 15 years.
