(2024) - CG Dylan Harper to Rutgers

Yeah, sounds like was just an attention type post. -
Coach Curt Cignetti to INDIANA... Forever and Ever, Amen!

Yeah basically from what I read, they never allowed him to fully take over the reigns. There were holdovers looking over his shoulder. Bad fit? Maybe. But sounds like it was more of a power struggle based on Beamer's cronies lurking around telling him what he should do etc. -

Was about to post this myself. -

If the new coach can provide evidence that he can organize a college level practice, maybe. -
McCulley is gone.

Sorry. Not a Colts fan so I didn't understand the hatred. -

Yeah I get the concern, but his record is very impressive no matter where he was. -

NFL guys with zero college background are not going to be interested in the IU job. Gruden is only an option (most likely on his side) because he's been exiled from the NFL for the most part. -
The buyout was way over the top, but I don't think anyone anticipated the drop off would be this bad and this fast. CTA had a chance to turn it around in his favor if he would have won at least 2 or the last three games. Same with the Louisville game. I think 5+ wins and three conference wins he's still our coach. I would bet Sorsby was gone no matter what. He's chasing the biggest NIL he can get which would not have been here. Dexter Williams, I don't get that. He hasn't played in a year, so he's not going to get much NIL and although he played admirably last season, he wasn't much of a passing threat. So his stock is pretty low right now. I suspect some guys will come back once the new coach is announced.

Exactly. Otherwise we'll just get more of what CTA was bringing. A coach who didn't know what he was doing, and losing his best players and coaches year in year out. -

I agree 100%. Hence lies the irony of college sports. Unfortunately because it is considered so important (more important than the school to a lot of fans) and has become all about the $$$, being a good person does't hold as much weight or patience as maybe it used to. Much like a lot of things, $$ wins the debate. That being said, this is sports, and most sports are about winning and losing and college sports is no different. -

I also think nobody thought or wanted to believe everything would fall off so fast. It all went bad very quickly. I think even the most negative thinkers would have assumed (even those who know IUFB's history very well) thought we'd get at least one more year of a decent/good/top25 team and then a slower drop back to IUFB mediocrity or something more in the lines of 5-7, 6-6 maybe a 4-8, 3-9 season followed by a 7-5 team etc. -

This is not really a rumor. Just a USC "blogger" who made a top 5 possible replacements (a list of HCs who might be fired) for DC job.I saw the article a couple of days ago: https://trojanswire.usatoday.com/lists/usc-defensive-coordinator-search-update-for-november-20-with-notes-and-analysis/. Honestly most of what is a rumor seems to be forum "info". My buddy knows Tom Brewer and his "info" is never more than what we get here. -

Who knows if this is legit or not, but Football Scoop does get "scoops". Seems like a weirder hire but I don't really know the ins and outs of these guys as far as x's and o's, recruiting, fundraising, putting together a staff, etc. There's a lot of stuff that goes into building and maintaining a college FB program. -

Thanks for doing this. It would be interesting to another list or a poll like: 1. Those most likely to consider IU 2. Who forum subscribers want. -
If they "let him go" they probably aren't going to tell him until after the game. So of course he's going to say this, it's the end of the season.
-
He will consider him as much as he considers anyone who wants the job. Keep that in mind. It's really WHO would want the job and then you go from there. Canada wouldn't be an inspired hire but he probably could get a good staff. I would not like the hire myself. He seems to have issues everywhere he goes. And by issues, detractors of his offense.

I would hire at IU in heartbeat btw. I am resigned to the fact that we're not going to be looking for a new coach for at least another year.
