  1. Does anyone know why we didn't fire him at that juncture? Did Crean convince Fred Glass that the arrival of Thomas Bryant would fix everything? Did we look for a coach behind the scenes, just nothing came to fruition? This is still such a mystery to me.
  2. Serious question as I am not trolling: I was having a discussion with one of my friends and he thought Tom Crean got a raw deal and should have had 1 more year at Indiana, his reasons being that he thought we pulled the trigger on Archie too soon and should have waited another year to see what other coaches were available. I was arguing that we should have fired Crean after the first round exit in 2015 and hired Archie Miller then. My reasons are as follows: Archie would have started the 2015-2016 season coming off an elite 8 and round of 32 appearance and had a chance to recruit Kyle Guy and Kris Wilkes; Crean had a large enough sample size to showcase that he wasn't capable of sustained success and retaining him was just delaying the inevitable (I had said this in 2014 to a prominent journalist and was laughed at, BTW) What are your thoughts on how Indiana handled the situation? After a year and a half of Archie, did we pull the trigger too soon, too late, or just right? (This is intended to be a fun conversation)

  4. Has anyone else seen Arizona’s away jerseys? They are probably my favorite Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  5. It may be low on the list, but it is still ON the list. Lets get a petition started to get these cool alts. I would love a script uni or a old school IU trident like the baseball team has worn in the past.
  6. In my opinion, changing the uniforms would be indicative of being on par with other innovative teams that have adapted to the ever changing landscape of college basketball. it would be an indicator of changing our mindset and being the most competitive. I could see changing the uniforms as a precursor to more winning... and more winning = more donations. So I disagree that donations would decrease under new uniforms. In fact I think the opposite would happen.
  7. Someone send this to Homefield apparel. I’d love to buy that jacket Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  8. a few years ago Michigan and Notre Dame both left Adidas, and look where both programs have been since.
  9. Not the single reason, but conversely name one top 10 program in college basketball that has the same views on its uniforms as IU does... 0... Its a piece of the pie we need to address in order to get back in the top 10. Again its a piece of the pie, not the whole thing, and how big that piece is has yet to be seen. That's why I dislike Fred Glass' initiative to really limit the creative ability of any of the sports teams at IU including basketball,.I feel it really handcuffs the team in its ability to be creative, innovative, and progressive.
  10. I disagree that it would be very little value add. Changing the jerseys would indicative of attention to detail as well as showcasing the ability to adapt to today's basketball environment. Kansas does a great job of maintaining tradition while mixing in forward thinking jersey designs. I just don't get why the program is so hesitant to change when change is what needs to happen after 25 years of not winning. Cool Dad is really handcuffing multiple sports including basketball by putting in a blanket rule to not have names on the backs of jerseys, only allowing certain fonts, and requiring the star championship branding. Why is the AD deciding whether or not the baseball team can have names on the backs of their jerseys? And why is he the one placing star championships on the back of our shorts? What other blue bloods do this? If the other 10 winningest college basketball programs don't do this, then why are we? To me the stars are a desperate plea from cool dad to say "look at us"
  11. He is so clueless... Absolutely has no idea what he is doing...
  12. What is the new uniform policy cool dad implemented?
  13. Honestly who designed the uniforms and then who approved them this year? I have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that anyone in the program thought the tops looked good this year. Surely if most of the fans are visually disturbed... the players can't enjoy playing in them? The tops look like Fan Boy Fred Glass as a Dad helped Adidas design these things and thought he was being progressive and didn't realize he has the style of a Dad...
  14. I mentioned it in another thread, but the Top Jersey is horrible and aesthetically we looked like a second rate team vs duke. I really wish we were sponsored by Nike or Under Armour.
  15. If this is the case, then why hasn't Fred Glass stepped up to the plate? Who's more at fault McRobbie or Glass? Are we to believe that Glass is so handcuffed that he can't do what needs to be done, or is Glass just that incompetent?
  16. He mentioned that we may have the worst President from a power 5 university when it comes to sports. Can't say I disagree. Personally I would love to see McRobbie and Glass replaced. When I was going to IU McRobbie gave a speech about how we all needed to make sacrifices to afford a secondary education... then a week or so later he announced he was receiving a substantial raise. I get that the market dictates the presidents pay, but come on... Especially when compared to Mitch Daniels, McRobbie is trash. Daniels had multiple years of tuition freezes.
  17. We also would probably have had quicker success had Archie installed a man-to-man defense instead of going from CTC's-no defense philosophy to the Pack-Line. Why is IU always going through a complete rebuild when other programs plug in a new coach and have success in shorter time periods. (ex. Louisville, Ohio State, etc.)
  18. Is there a third option? After watching the video breakdowns on Inside the Hall he just looks lost at the moment. They all do.

  20. Yes, in the top 10 or so and provide solid cash flow for the program, but aside from cash, what does Adidas gives us to set Indiana as a program apart from everyone else? Our jerseys are below average. I'm sure Archie or Fred Glass can ask for a refresh of the jersey.
  21. It's on the seal of the State of Indiana and it was a mascot at the football games for some time in the 1960's.
  22. To me, this loss is not as disappointing as the loss in 2015. In 2015 it was CTC's 8th year as our HC and the program as a whole was not what the fan base expected to be in year 8 of a head coach. This time around, I feel optimism that CAM can take this as a learning experience and help the build the program into a perennial powerhouse. I do however have the following gripes with the program that I haven't seen mentioned on here: 1. The fact we are sponsored by Adidas and have garbage looking uniforms. My friend is a fashion editor at a New York magazine and she completely agrees. I'm not talking about the colors or candy stripes, but rather the fit of the uniforms and overall aesthetic compared to Duke and Michigan. Our upper jerseys are trash this year and I hate the stars on the back of the shorts. Why does IU feel the need to remind everyone we have 5 championships by putting them on our behinds. I would like to see Archie go with Under Armour or Nike going forward. I would like to see us wear our traditional uni's 75% of the time and the other 25% reserved for funky alternates that even include our names on the backs of the jerseys. 2. I think IUBB needs an unofficial mascot. Doesn't have to be the face of the program, but something entertaining for home games and NCAA tournament games. Can be the Bison, but am also open to other ideas.
  23. Should the Indiana Men’s B-ball team bring back the bison mascot this year? Would anyone else besides me love to see an alternate IU basketball jersey that features the bison in its design? Think Kansas and it’s Jayhawk on its uniform, but only IU and a Bison. Is anyone on this site Savy enough to make a mock up design? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  25. I attended IU from 2009-2013 so don't have reference for what happened. Did the NCAA cause us to lose scholarships? Did Crean kick off players or force players to transfer? How much was Crean's doing, how much was from self punishment, and how much was the NCAA's doing in regards to what happened to the program? Also how was it even possible for Crean to only post a 2 game win improvement from year 2 to 3? He won less big ten games (3) in year 3 than he did in year 2 (4). Its almost like a child milking an injury because he's getting special attention
