  1. This is the most stress-inducing Indiana team I’ve ever had the privilege to stress over.
  2. Our two most likely transfers have 36 of Indiana’s 59 points.
  3. They continue to hold them until the end of shot clock......then, MSU scores with a layup again and again.
  4. But, unfortunately, they can’t.
  5. It’s official. Tom Izzo is a d-bag.
  6. Was that the first time Indiana fed Morgan inside? They need to do it a whole lot more. The threes aren’t falling, as usual (except for Smith, surprisingly). Now, can Morgan hit a freaking free throw?
  7. So, the Indy Star admits IN THE STORY Fischer asked them not to report the story. Jesus.
  8. That’s awesome!! I’m so happy for Freddie.
  9. This is my thinking, too. I hope the staff gauges and follows his progress and keeps some sort of interest in him known (if they do in fact have any interest). He may not end up in Bloomington because other recruits might be viewed as having more to offer Indiana, but then again, maybe not. Two things are for sure...the kid can pass and the kid can shoot. Matt Roth had serious downsides, but it sure was nice to call his number when Indiana needed a cold hand to come out and become immediately hot. Whether Brown would be okay as a role player for a couple years or more is something he may have to consider (if an offer is made) and whether playing for your dream school is worth those types of sacrifices. Then again, he may progress and mature into a player who comes in and makes more of an impact than a role player can. To post on a thread about a player you're in close contact with is nothing but a blessing for those wanting to know more about the recruit down the road. For those that don't want to know anymore and have already written the recruit off, I'm not sure I see a reason to comment, much less scroll through a 29-page thread to create a count of some other member's posts. It is his prerogative if he wishes to do that, just as a guy in Hartford City should be allowed to post as often as he wishes with relevant information (or even personal excitement). My only complaint is when accusations of being a child stalker were brought up, as we all know there are adults across the globe attending sporting events to watch in awe the performances of young athletes. As a father, the threat of child stalkers is extremely grotesque and scary...so making an accusation such as the one made on here merely because someone from Hartford City was posting with enthusiasm about a talented high school basketball player in Hartford City (something so many others do routinely) was alarming and uncalled for. I will admit I have been more active on this thread than on some others (and less so than on some others), but that has a lot to do with the fact I was able to watch the kid in person and because I have been responding in a WELCOMING manner to a new member who has more of an insider account of the player (and the person) than I do. I wish we had someone like this for the Blackmon thread too, as this race for the record could become fun and interesting. I love the history and lore of Indiana high school basketball, and this could be history in the making. And I guarantee you the history books won't keep Brown's name off the list just because he played in a small town against "weak competition". Brown is, admittedly, not at the top of my wishlist of recruits right now (and he may never be), but the story is an interesting one and it could certainly become even more interesting in the next couple years. Those not interested can remain disinterested...just let those that are interested continue to be. Easy enough. I would love for this thread to get back to posts about Brown, rather than remaining an ongoing argument over whether someone’s too excited about a high school player or any attempts to control that level of enthusiasm. Yes, I realize I helped stir the argument and just added to the argument again. My apologies. I will keep it strictly about Brown from here on out.
  10. Oh, lovely...another excuse in Izzo's bag if they are beaten. Just like in East Lansing, it was because his team was riddled with injuries (a single injury) never mind Indiana had no Morgan for most the game, an injured Durham briefly, no Race, no McRoberts, and no Hunter. I used to naively have respect for coach Izzo, but I've become much more aware since.
  11. This makes me happy. I hope it makes Ethan even more happy.
  12. Is he a legit small forward or does he have handles to play the guard position as well? 6’5” is a bit on the smaller side for college forwards these days, but from what few videos I’ve seen he seems to play more like a guard. What he lacks in height he makes up for in hops though. I’m sure there’s a chance he’ll continue to grow, too. I’m just curious if he handles the ball at all for Brownsburg or if he plays a more typical small forward position.
  13. Well...if Duke lands him, then at least we’ll still see a Watford playing on Branch McCracken Court twice more (considering they matchup Indiana with Duke in the ACC/Big10 Challenge every stinking year). I love the idea of Indiana having the chance to knock off Duke on an annual basis, but not when the roster comparisons have been far from favorable for Indiana.
  14. If my memory serves me well, which it often doesn't these days, the only list I found for rebounds was top 10 (or maybe top 25) and he wasn't on pace to reach that list. I may be wrong though. I had to go through and count his rebounds for each season and then search for a tops list. I'm pretty sure I only found the top 10. I'm sure there's a longer list someplace. EDIT: I looked this up again and realized I was wrong. He has to be on the record books for rebounding. At this point in his career, Juwan Morgan has 704 rebounds to his credit. So, he's not too far off from top ten in rebounding. Thanks for making me recheck my math and to look into this again. Here is the top ten all-time leading rebounders for Indiana University: 1. Alan Henderson - 1,091 2. Walt Bellamy - 1, 087 3. Kent Benson - 1,031 4. Archie Dees - 914 5. Steve Downing - 889 6. Ray Tolbert - 874 7. Don Schlundt - 860 8. Eric Anderson - 825 9. Christian Watford - 776 10. Brian Evans - 750 I thought D.J. White would be near to this list, but I had forgotten he was only able to play 5 games his sophomore year. He only had 547 rebounds. I'm not sure who would be between Brian Evans at 750 and Juwan Morgan at 704.
  15. I think you got your money's worth.
  16. Because "it was a great defensive play" - Dakich
  17. That was Cline and Bohannon ALL OVER AGAIN. YUCK! EDIT: not sure why that was in response to your much earlier post.
  18. Morgan fouled out tonight with 9 points and 15 rebounds, which sandwiches him between the Van Arsdale brothers at 34th all time. He is now 6 points from Tom Van Arsdale.
  19. It will only be a half a foul on Happ, so it doesn't affect his playing time.
  20. No kidding. He said you aren't going to get two calls in Assembly Hall. Please? Yes, Morgan lowered his shoulder, but he's had to draw three fouls in a single possession to get one called on Wisconsin. And, here comes Indiana's routine second-half demise.
  21. And regardless of how poor their strength of schedule is or how long the coach keeps Brown in, people in that town are excited. Does that excitement make someone a child stalker? That's the point I was trying to make.
  22. In all fairness, sir, how many Romeo fans had restraining orders placed on them for hyping him up? Romeo had grown men raving on him, too (as have many young athletes) and many weren't anywhere in the vicinity of his home town and had no direct connection. It's an open forum. Brown plays in this guy's hometown, a very small town mind you where people know most of their neighbors (if not all of them). I'm not saying Brown is the level of Romeo or Damon Bailey, but at the same time, he just might make Damon sweat his record a bit. To call him out as some child stalker is ridiculous and uncalled for. I didn't want to get involved, but I'm not going to sit and let someone slam another poster who has done nothing more than cheer on a hometown hero on a forum which allows it without stepping in and calling you out. I'm sure you'll have plenty of followers who will ridicule me for even stepping in, but I'm sure there are others on this forum who agree with me that you've taken it too far. His posts have been almost exclusively positive and he's hyped up, like a whole lot of other people are.
