I couldn’t find the “Top QBs Who Give Their Defenses a Rest” rankings...I’m sure that list comes out tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Could Whop possibly be hinting that we may actually see the black jerseys under the lights against Northwestern??? I remember posting about the black jerseys before the season started and someone said it was just a photoshopped image. Guessing Whop is just playing with this dude. I know many may disagree but I think these would be AMAZING! If this is what it takes to get the guys FIRED up to ensure a bowl bid, then I’m ALL FOR IT! After listening to him rant and “call out” LeBron and his “posse” and other “snowflakes” about the China situation, I wondered if Emmis would pull the plug on him out of possible backlash in this PC era...I don’t know if the suspension is in any way related to this rant a week ago but wouldn’t be shocked. At one point he said something like I don’t care if I get in trouble for this or not but it’s what I believe in... Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Secret Scrimmage Information
BGVille Hoosierfan replied to sweetpain's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
The injuries were a strain/sprain and a bruise for Green and Rob...just got those updates this morning. Also Al has been “dealing with” something for a bit so sounds like he has some sort of nagging minor injury. Really hoping we get to see Rob and Green next week to get some sort of gauge on this team. I know SS said the FT shooting isn’t a concerned since our 2 best FT shooters didn’t play, I highly disagree. Shooting in an open gym and shooting sub 60% is a cause of concern even if you’re Shaq. We lost 5 one possession games last year and it all comes back to free throw shooting. That HAS to change this year especially when you’re a team that doesn’t shoot the 3 at a high clip. Definitely seems to be some encouragement from this scrimmage given our situation with our guards but I still don’t know what kind of expectations to have with this team and what our ceiling may look like. On Penix’s 4 drives, he led us to 3 redzone trips. Ramsey led us to 2 trips the rest of the game. The argument that is being made about scoring too quick and not giving the defense rest makes no sense to me. That’s basically saying our QB is too good and we’d rather have an average QB under center. That’s like saying the Colts would’ve won more Super Bowls with Flacco under center instead of Peyton Manning. I just don’t get it. Who would rather slow the game down and end a series in a punt rather than score nearly every possession??? Can you imagine a coach pitching that to a program as he’s trying to get hired on?? At the end of the day, the defense comes down to personnel and schemes and that’s on the coaching staff. Do you not think these kids are in the highest physical shape of their lives and can’t handle playing at high levels for significant minutes. Maryland scored on their first offensive possession...I guess the defense was “too rested” on that drive. So to credit the 2 defensive turnovers to Ramsey is insane. Maryland literally has the worst pass D in the B1G and possibly one of the top 20 worst in the nation and we virtually had no passing attack the entire second half and our bubble screen game was shot bc we couldn’t get the ball to the receivers quick enough out in space. Happy Ramsey stuck around and I really like the kid and he’s tough as nails but this argument that he’s somehow a better fit than Penix will never make sense to me. I’d be will to bet that Penix (IF he can stay healthy) will play on Sunday’s and Ramsey wouldn’t even sniff an XFL roster. Great kid, tough kid, but in no way is he ever the better option for us. Hope this team doesn’t celebrate too much and is able to focus and get back to business and make sure win #6 doesn’t slip through our fingertips. Hoping Penix gets cleared soon. 2nd half offense was discouraging. Only TD drive we had was thanks to Stevie gaining 50 of the 62 yards (all on the ground) and our other score (a FG), came because of the D and came off of a 4 play -1 yard drive...could’ve sealed the game at the point. It seemed as if the play calling second half was very conservative/manilla and our coaching staff HAS to get away from that. Thank goodness the D stepped up and made the necessary adjustments. It seemed as if Maryland stopped testing our secondary which didn’t make any sense...Nonetheless, let’s get better and focus on being 1-0 next weekend and beat those Huskers!
