Was able to watch Archie and Ostrom interact with the Lander family at Southport earlier this season and walked away feeling great about recruitments led by Ostrom. Walked right up to the family and gave hugs to them all followed by having a lengthy conversation with Khristians younger sister. Could tell he was well received by the family but I was cautious about the recruitment. Excited that the persistence paid off for the staff! Khristian is also very active on social media so having him recruiting behind the scenes could bring huge results in the near future. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

IG Live recap: Three schools recruiting him hardest are the three schools he has taken an official to (IU, UL, Michigan). Indiana visit was taken to build relationship with coaches and not necessarily to win him over with campus/facilities as he has been there many times over the years. Talks to coaches about twice a week. Leal and Galloway are on him often about teaming up. Mentioned he is around a lot of people who would like to see him at IU but doesn’t feel the pressure. The Louisville visit was a way to get comfortable with players and coaches. Enjoyed their version of midnight madness and was impressed with Donovan Mitchell being there. Talks to coaches about same as IU and talks to new recruit Jay Scrubb. Played in an open gym with current and future players. Talked about how Michigan visit was cold and rainy but liked the Big House. Just beginning to build a relationship with new staff but grew up liking them so doesn’t need to be won over by the programs history. Would like a Duke offer but that is the only blue blood he wants to begin recruiting him. Don’t remember him mentioning a commitment timetable. Hopefully covered it all and can give everyone a good idea of where he is at.

Will go ahead and comment on this one since he was a teammate of mine last year... very smooth in the infield and the bat continues to progress as he puts on weight. Plays for a real good travel team out of Indy and clearly had a great summer but has yet to see time at the varsity level at FC (Not going to get into much detail but this is a reflection of egos more so than ability). Great student, hard worker. Someone I think people should be excited to have in the program.

Really nice interaction today between Trey and Khristian Lander on Instagram Live. Clearly have a good relationship but were always cautious to talk about the other’s recruitment. Interesting comments were made about IU’s recruitment of Dawson Garcia from Trey. Seems like he has become a huge priority for the staff and Galloway mentioned he has been on him hard. Sounds like a visit is very possible. Always enjoy watching recruits IG Live streams as it’s usually very telling of how the recruit is feeling. Anyway figured I’d share for those who didn’t catch it.

A classmate of mine actually played with Matthew at the Adidas AA camp this summer and mentioned to me a few weeks back how often he talked about Indiana and how highly he spoke of IU. Clearly there is a long way to go in this recruitment but I figured it was a good time to pass this on. Always nice to hear a player of his caliber have positive things to say about the program. I have to admit it’s pretty nice hearing some of you guys mention Cobie who has been one of my closest friends for years. If I had to guess I would say ISU but he doesn’t talk about it a whole lot so there’s a good chance I could be wrong. Anyway, I just found it cool that someone I personally know would be included in this thread.
