  1. I guess I'm just confused on how we thought this would go. We thought the FR would be spots 11-13? Like we actually thought that? 2 kids rated top 100--- just won't see the floor at all/shouldn't be relied upon to offer depth? But, if we go from the issues we had last year to worrying about our 7th-9th spots--- that's measurable growth. Enright vs Burton Wilkerson vs Lindsay Dorn vs Mustaf DeVries vs Sherrell Alexis vs Yigi we're going to sit here and act like that isn't significant? Bench Conerway, Bailey, FR Sisley, Miles Bench SO Sisley, Harris, 3 FR Granted if you played a game bench vs bench--- it's probably relatively even--- but, it's not like we are taking out all 5 starters namely Sherrell/Yigi (both) ever. The bench wasn't near the issue as our top end talent was last season, specifically at the 1/5. people are going to question and pretend they know s*** know matter what lol.. it's easy to do on a computer with no skin in the game. I've not really mentioned an issue with that, though. I think realistically, we've added near the best we could... I really like the idea that all these guys can be back next year... I do hope we find another guy that's more 7th-11th... and not a clear 12th, 13th, as the last two are...
  2. Then we suck at scouting, I guess.
  3. "primary ball handler" a buzz word that doesn't mean a whole lot... Moody is going to play some point, so is Lindsay. That grouping, along with Burton, dwarfs--- Enright, Conerway. No serviceable bench big... ok. Sisley is a better rebounder, by a lot, than anyone we brought off the bench, by the end of the year, last season. But, we upgraded IMMENSELY at the STARTING 4/5. You could not make that case, no.
  4. You mentioned the possibility of having a season like last year... I think being so significantly better at the 1/4/5 ensures that won't happen. I think top end talent is a bigger question mark than depth
  5. The bold--- a lot of teams throughout history could say that. "virtually no depth" that would be assuming Karvala, Moody are non contributors.
  6. Burton- Lindsay- Moody Lindsay- Harris-Moody Mustaf- Harris-Karvela-Sisley Sherrell-Sisley-Manhertz Yigi-Sherrell-Sokolov I would prefer another 4. I don't see any mins available 1-3. Did we actually think we were going to achieve that? I'm not convinced many teams, especially outside of the top 10, do have what you mentioned-- Harris, Sisley, and 3 FR-- backups wise. Why can't Sisley improve as LJ Cason did? Trent played about 50 mins more as a FR than LJ did. I think this team clearly body bags our group we had last year.
  7. and the "I wanna get away", where that does work for some people... some it doesn't at all and they really struggle. I'm never living 5 hours from my kid haha... I'll buy a cheap RV and live in a van down by river, if I have to. Couldn't do it!
  8. They aren't offering anything different money wise than we are. But I'm not living in Canada, so they can p*** off.... Florida offers--- let's talk business
  9. Concur.. I just, idk, some kids just don't value what I value.... doesn't make either of us right, I guess. If I grew up in New Pal, Avon, Westfield.. Columbus.... and Indiana is recruiting me, meaning I get my entire family at EVERY game.... I can go home on a weekend for a home cooked meal, at times... my mom can do my laundry some. If I needed maintenance on my vehicle, I could use the same people as where I grew up, wouldn't have to switch DR/Dentists.. Look my FR year at college I was running a 104+ temp for like two days and thought I was gunna die--- my mom came and picked me up the fraternity house lol... she lived 30 minutes away. Call me a momma's boy, whatever, but that was nice... came home, slept for literally 3 days straight-- Fri, Sat, Sun... back in class on Monday. I think particularly at TE.
  10. He doesn't. Ahhhh... yeah, I mean, if they allow SRs into that, then yes, he would. I didn't think they were going to.
  11. FCS, right? I will say-- for all the complaints of the OOC last year--- Old Dominion finished ahead of a whole HOST of P4 schools-- Purdue, Northwestern, Wake Forest, Cinci, Arkansas, NC State, Miss St, Kansas, AZ ST, Florida, Boise St, Kentucky, Minnesota, Baylor, Rutgers, Maryland, Cal, UCF, Mich St, Wisconsin, UNC, WVU, BC, UCLA, Stanford, OK ST, Colorado, VT, Syracuse... Kennesaw St finished ahead of Purdue, UNC, WVU, Colorado, BC, UCLA, VT, Syracuse, Stanford, OKST.... If we would have came into last season with..... NC State+Virginia Tech-- on our schedule instead of OD+KS people would have been singing our praises, when in REALITY... the teams we played were BETTER, albeit, don't have national recognition. Sportswriters that have no clue, mostly.
  12. That's not ideal or realistic and would be incredibly disappointing if those FR were spots 11-13.
  13. I didn't enjoy going to the prom, I would venture to guess other don't, as well. But, I think you could argue... it's easier to adjust to college life "NOT in season" to start, so these guys get a full semester (many take summer courses, as well) before they have to be "IN season" AND in classes.
  14. You didn't think we'd get a bench big and guard? "we have no minutes" really isn't a great recruiting pitch
  15. From what I've seen of Hoover, he isn't Mendoza (not many are) but he's pretty good and a scheme fitter w/gobs of experience. Becker--- idk how anyone could comfortably play him all game without a safety over the top... then you have to deal with Marsh, as well. Devoting that many resources to stopping those two--- then you have to deal with our RPO/run game in general... that's a pick your poison. Bond, Morris, Chandler, and Preston is (on paper in May) EXCELLENT depth. Barker seemingly can hold his own at TE, and I'm sure they expect Schott to play plenty. The OL should be magnificent and surely the best OL, by far, Hoover has had.
  16. They don't skip their SR season. A "27" graduate plays their SR football season in 2026.
  17. 41TDs 6INTs 72% 7 rushing TDs If Hoover tops that, sheeshh.. look out.
  18. They're worlds from each other athletically. Best resume, ok. 3 straight really freaking good QBs. And really 4 straight, if you include FanDuel Express Sorsby
  19. I don't see how you can say the bold. One was 6'5 240lbs and fast af. I do think he's got a lot going for him, especially in terms of fit in the offense, but Mendoza had that, as well.
  20. I don't really think he's kidding, assuming the dollar amount would be what we want lol
  21. Twitter is flooded with IU stuff at the WH. Love to see it
