  1. Mgbako has quality length. Let's not right him off. It's very obvious he has some learning to do regarding the game. It's Woodson's job to teach him. I suspect he will get better as the days progress. His ceiling is high, and if he reaches his potential it makes us better.
  2. He is. He needs to play better..He hasn't played well this year and is proving some people possibly correct with regard to saying IU is better without X (I'm not one of them)....but some of his decision making lately has been questionable at best. I don't mean play better by scoring more points...I mean play better by actually facilitating the offense and pushing the ball up the floor. In recent games we've had several occasions where we've had an opportunity for a fast break but for some reason he pulls back...
  3. Please...I can't imagine a loss to Louisville. We need to beat the brakes off them.
  4. Adrenaline/nerves are high which is why I believe he jumps so high and over shoots. If he shoots it with half the strength he feels he needs to...it might just go in.
  5. OH yes. I remember that shot distinctly. I was about to write in the game thread of how ironic it was that he finally made a three -- but that it didn't count cause it was after the whistle and play had stopped.
  6. Your last sentence is key. That would make all the difference in the world...however, I'm not so sure we're going to see a drastic change (at least now)...his mechanics are way off...for one, he jumps way too high, pushes the ball and is hardly ever set. I may be wrong, but he typically misses way long on his shots which has led to some air balls on jumpers within 12'
  7. I don't disagree...but this is where we're at unfortunately with the way the team is constructed. Sparks will probably get 10-15 min a game just to spell Reneau and Ware. , I'm not sure what else we can do except to play a 7 man rotation and I don't think Woodson will do that....with that said, 8 man rotation should suffice. However, as I type this, I get the worry we will see Sparks, Banks, Walker all out on the floor together again.
  8. Agreed. I was never for the Walker transfer and made that known…however I was for Sparks. At this point he’s got a ways to go…obviously big difference from what he’s seen prior (my understanding is that he was an all conference player) however, I do think he should be in the rotation unlike Walker.
  9. It’s all good. I remember you and a couple of other being a very vocal supporter of it. He just wasn’t a fit from day 1. It happens but at this point his minutes need to be very limited.
  10. 8 man rotation is right with this team. There's no reason to go further unless there's foul trouble or an injury.
  11. This has entered my mind as well...We need to run more plays for MM and next for McNeeley. No more "Miller Kopp standing in the corner" role to try and create space for an already clustered paint.
  12. Certainly agreed. It's very frustrating. We could've had a thousands of guards literally crawl to Btown to play. Again, would take one or two from each team we've played this year over the Walker transfer.
  13. That's serious $.
  14. Any names being floated around? Allen has a serious buyout so I would think we get a coach that has some pedigree. Have to imagine we've put feelers out to both coaches currently coaching and others who may have taken the year off.
  15. Well said. For where we want this team to be, MM’s development is a huge factor…frankly, his ceiling may be the highest out of anyone…which makes our ceiling that much higher. I’m not prepared to call MM another Lander after 4 games…for one thing MM has the build, Lander didn’t. I’m still optimistic MM finds his footing.
  16. But…But Woodson got us to the 2nd round of the tournament last year!! (with the best player in the country who was an Archie player)
  17. Yup. But we failed to address the guard play in the portal…but let’s bring in Anthony Walker!!
  18. Why is anyone surprised by this rout? We are a bad team. Maybe the sunshine pumpers will finally realize that in Woodson’s 3rd year we ain’t looking good.
  19. Wow…good news and thanks for sharing. Typically MSG is a home game for The Huskies.…but we always travel well.
  20. We've continued to nosedive in Kenpom despite playing these past couple of days. Down to #70. I can't remember when were that low last time. Maybe Archie's first year?
  21. Couldn’t have said it better. We were in rhythm and ready to put the game out of reach. Unfortunately, we’ve seen this play out too often in Woodson’s tenure and I’m certain it’s cost us before.
  22. And to further extend on this…we’ve dropped 15 spots in Kenpom since start of season and have nosedived more than 20+ spots on Barrtorvik. Although we avoided disaster by not losing, winning 3 buy games, all by single digits at home, will not look favorable in the computer metrics. Like it or not, the tournament committee uses these metrics.
