  1. Their bench reminds me of watching a bunch of high school softball players.
  2. That's a shot Morgan has to make!
  3. We're 2 for 11 on 3s. ... Back to our usual selves. ... The way the game is played these days, we can't shoot like that and win.
  4. At times, he can overcome his lack of talent by being the smartest player on the court. But he's made some stupid mistakes tonight.
  5. We were up 41-37 and had the ball. ... We haven't scored since.
  6. As soon as McRoberts recognized that trap, he needed to stop dribbling!
  7. I actually didn't think that was a bad shot choice by Newkirk. His defender was off him and he was pretty wide open. He just needed to hit it.
  8. Why is Smith trying a tomahawk dunk 10 feet from the bucket!
  9. Not only was it a poor shot choice, but I though he walked before taking it.
  10. Where is Green's head tonight? Granted, his teammates didn't put him a good position. But if he pulls up and shoots a short jumper instead of driving all the way to the bucket, he beats the clock and (possibly) has two points. He's got to know where the shot clock's at. He's the dadgum point guard!
  11. How long is that dude in the lane?
  12. We're on pace for 30-plus turnovers.
  13. Team that belongs in Big 12 77 IU 66
  14. I'm not sure I can take much more of this thread -- or the Romeo recruitment. Here are photos of me when this thread started -- and now. And I fear the stress is only gonna get worse as his announcement approaches ...
  15. If being a total doofus during games were an NCAA violation, we'd have been on probation for the past nine years.
  16. So if the NCAA makes allegations against Drew and Vandy, their main evidence is gonna be where he parks at a restaurant?
  17. I checked Archie's bio to be sure -- he and Sean are brothers. And early in Archie's career, he worked for Sean. And Sean is now accused of being dirty. Many are saying that because Scott Drew has a shady reputation, that Bryce's recruiting must be questioned as well. So while I don't question Archie's integrity, it could be easy for some to do so because of Sean -- just as they are with the Drews. And how do you know that Shittu's recruitment was "absolutely" dirty?
  18. I'm still not sure I understand why if Romeo were to go to Vandy, that just has to make Bryce Drew dirty. Garland lives near Nashville and wanted to stay close to home for the year he'll be in college. He is pals with Shittu, who's from Canada and goes to school in Vermont -- he's got no ties or allegiances to any school or region. And apparently, Romeo had no desire to play for Crean, so Indiana wasn't considered until Archie took over. And he's also buddies with Garland, and may want be his teammate for the one year he will be in school. ... Heck, except for a rogue trip to the Final Four in 1994, Florida was pretty much an irrelevant program until Donovan took over. Then he got some good recruits and turned it into a national power. Everybody's gotta start somewhere. Remember Donovan? The guy's whose wife was shopping for houses in Bloomington because he was gonna leave the NBA for us? ... When the whole "Garland to IU" thing was picking up steam, I saw an article saying if IU got Garland and Romeo -- along with the kids who'd already committed -- we'd have the No. 1 class. Would that have made Archie dirty? Look at the hot water his brother's in out west. Would you want everybody assuming our coach is dirty just because he's in his first year and could've signed the No. 1 class? Coupled with the poopstorm Sean's in, that could be an easy conclusion to draw.
  19. Even if that Bohannon had made that shot, I think his foot was on the line.
  20. Green just made me poop my pants with that pass to Morgan.
  21. Posting this here because I'm not sure where else would be appropriate. We don't sell booze at football games, do we? IU was a dry campus when I finished there (27 years ago), and I don't think that's changed. My question, nearly $600,000 isn't chump change -- should we start selling booze at games? (BTW, I think it's funny the AD said booze "added to the game day experience." Until last season, I would think watching Toiletmaker football drove their fans to drink). WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Beer and wine sold during football games are pouring money into Purdue University's athletic department. Purdue collected $567,000 in revenue last fall at Ross-Ade Stadium, the Journal and Courier reports, after alcohol sales were expanded to the entire stadium. During previous seasons, alcohol was limited to certain ticket holders and designated areas. "In general, it was very positive and it added to the game day experience. Fans responded to it," athletic director Mike Bobinski said. Purdue is one of 10 schools in the Big Ten that allow alcohol sales at football games but one of only four that permit sales throughout the stadium. The others are Maryland, Ohio State and Minnesota. "We've talked to our concessionaire group about how we can improve the operation so we don't create bottlenecks and long lines that cause people to miss extended periods of the game," Bobinski said. "It was a really good start." The sales expansion came as the school launched a beer called Boiler Gold American Golden Ale, made by People's Brewery Co. Alcohol sales were highest during games against Indiana ($134,972) and Michigan ($126,966). There were fewer drinkers at the Nebraska game: sales totaled $65,757, a season low. Bobinski said there's no plan to add beer vendors to stadium aisles. "That's baseball; it's a slower game," he said. "I don't know that in-stadium vending is in our future. Never say never, but it's not in the immediate plan."
  22. So, in a week -- maybe less, I can't recall for sure -- we've gone from thinking Romeo is gonna go to IU and persuade Garland to ditch Vandy and join him, to being certain Romeo is headed to Nashville and that all is lost? ... And all this after one interview?
  23. Ugly win, but a win. I'm switching over to Olympics -- U.S. vs. Canada in women's pux. Go USA!
