General Coach Candidate News
Travis Scott replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It feels like they just feed Rabby misinformation to throw everyone off the scent and he takes the bait every time. That, or he's in cahoots with the program to assist them with the hiring process and contract negotiations by throwing out silly b.s. -

Mike Woodson to be next IUBB coach. Thad Matta to be associate AD
Travis Scott replied to iubb's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Woodson has a TON of coaching experience and knows how to deal with varying personalities and games. I feel like he can use various styles unlike our last two coaches. He should be able to game plan well and find matchup advantages as that is what most assistants do in the NBA. With Matta we now have someone with a Knight coaching tree history and The Butler Way. Let’s ******* go!!! -

Tell me again why everyone is talking about Woodson? It's not like Dolson said he was meeting with him or anything? For all we know I have the same chance of being the next coach. Patience is a virtue. -
General Coach Candidate News
Travis Scott replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
For all we know Dolson has had his guy for quite some time. The Stevens and now Matta talk is just stuff people have made up. No one has said they’ve met with Dolson. He could just be waiting for his guy to finish their tournament run. -

I just want 40 three point attempts a game and to have every player yell "Kobe!" every time they heave one up. Just hire whatever coach that can put this into motion! -

Candidate Thread: Brad Stevens (Boston Celtics)
Travis Scott replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
First off, I hope it's Brad. I really do. But, I just don't want there to be one of two things to happen... 1) We get Brad and expectations are through the roof from the start and fans start questioning his abilities. He wouldn't be coming into a perfect situation and would need some time to right the ship. His name's Brad, not God. 2) We don't get him, get a really qualified coach still, and yet aren't 100% behind him as we feel there was a big letdown. -

Wanted: 6'5'' Farm Boy that eats steak from a cow he named, had a basketball in his crib, and wouldn't come inside after supper until he made 100 three pointers. Bonus: names "Pistol Pete" as his favorite movie of all time. -

I heard CAM was at a restaurant eating when RL made the announcement and everyone in the restaurant started cheering while CAM just sat and ate his dinner. That's straight gangsta. -

I know http://www.facebook.com/courierjournal is streaming the decision. Are there others we should know about if/when it crashes? -
While it'd be nice to have a true 5 down there for certain match-ups, I feel the game has evolved enough where it's not nearly as much of a necessity. I kind of like the idea of a bunch of athletic 6'8" guys running all over the place and keeping the lanes open. Archie's defense allows for this style as well.

OG too... he may not be real vocal, but he plays the game the right way and just goes to work. -

I see what you're doing here... going up 0.1% each day until he announces. Will be at 99.9% then. I'm good with that! -

I can't put out any new information, but here's what my intuition is telling me... 1. He originally was set for UofL because it was close to home. I feel that proximity to home is important given how guarded and "together" his family seems. Vandy's not too far of a drive, but Kansas sure is. 2. Him changing his mind from announcing at the McDonald's game and most likely announcing in New Albany. If there's a public viewing of the announcement, I feel that bodes well for IU. Imagine all of the passionate fans that would be in attendance and how let down they'd feel. I don't see Romeo as being that type of kid to do that just for the spotlight. 3. Archie has a lot to sell him on... immediately "the guy", national spotlight, competitive team, close to home, legend in the state, player development, etc. Lastly, well, I've been listening to my gut since I was 14 years old, and frankly speaking, I've come to the conclusion that my guts have $&!t for brains. -
(2018) PG Darius Garland to Vandy
Travis Scott replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I hope we get both of them, but it's nice knowing that with CAM it really is okay if neither one come. We don't have to have the top talent to have one of the best teams. with Clappy von Buttcut we needed pure athletic talent... now we just need guys that can learn how to play. If talent comes with it, all the better.
