  1. One thing to remember about the stakeholders is they aren’t always employed by the university. I’m not sure I believe Scott Dolson is “unaware” or remaining “neutral” in hopes things resolve. That being said, he is very, very, very savvy in the personal/relationship business. The current system (unsure if it’s unique to IU or not) demands you get the deep pockets behind any changes you want BEFORE you make a change. Dolson does not have the overwhelming trust of the stakeholders either deep pockets to make unilateral decisions. I’m 99% positive Scott Dolson *could* fire Woodson tomorrow without cause. But what’s the cost? Does he then lose the ability to write checks out of booster’s pockets? The political capital it takes to be successful in this type of setting is a skill unto itself. Love him or hate him, Brian Evans for example lacks that skill. And that’s okay, but it feels like we have a coach with a little political capital and a little basketball skill and not enough coaching acumen. Unfortunately that “political capital” he wields keeps him in power for a bit.
  2. I believe it’s actually “THE insane” if you catch my drift.
  3. Nope—buyout is full until 2026. He’s getting a mil a year unless he somehow retires and takes less. Part of his year extension last year. 8.4mil until basically Q2 2026.
  4. For as many points as Mgbako scores, he gives up that many at least on defense.
  5. I don’t get ESPN’s attempt to replace Walton with Jimmy Dykes. Guy is as likeable as a root canal.
  6. No way we lose tomorrow. Schedule plus opponent puts advantage completely on IU. The team is not at the level we all want but it’s not completely awful. There’s enough talent top to bottom to beat Providence since their best player is out (99% sure).
  7. Illinois looking good. I hate everything.
  8. Interesting watching this Dayton UCONN nightcap. Hurley is once again acting like a petulant child. And Dayton is playing with their hair on fire.
  9. Don’t. Too soon. Nope.
  10. Basketball gods in a cruel twist of fate throw a lifeline to Coach Woodson a lifeline with an opportunity to offset the loss today with Gonzaga. Good for the team this year but not sure in the long run this is beneficial…
  11. Hey I recognize half of WVU’s coaching staff!
  12. It’s like watching a different sport. So many great games.
  13. This. Everything is there. Enthusiasm. Support. Facilities-ish. Fanbase. But it’s been far too long. Really hate the Nebraska football comparison but it’s the best I’ve seen. Doesn’t mean IU is eternally doomed. But when there’s uproar about not being included in big name events…
  14. Can you see the major difference in offensive action and movement when the bench is in?
  15. Watch the game at 13:10. Leal stood up and begged for a timeout. Really strange bench interaction.
  16. Hey the good news is there’s a generic Viagra commercial on. Maybe that’s the key to help Woody…
  17. To be fair we had no idea they shoot 3’s and are scrappy. It’s all so surprising…
  18. Really disenchanted with this team and program the last few years. Game’s not over and season is very early. But it’s not an enjoyable product. Even if we win this game it’s not a victory.
  19. Tough matchup for third day in a row. Not a super deep team and we lack a go-to scorer. Lot of great pieces on the roster but Mackenzie’s absence highlights the lack of a scorer/focal-piece.
  20. FYI Kevin Wilson out at Tulsa. They were not great on the field but sources mentioned the “culture” that wasn’t easily fixed in addition to on-field results leading to the decision. Sound familiar?
  21. The more I see the more I can’t help but ponder why I don’t enjoy this “style” of ball. Even for the last couple of years. This style of play, atmosphere, mojo, whatever you want to call it is too reminiscent of pro-ball. Less about the sum of parts being great and more about individual performances carrying the group. Frustrating.
  22. This team has likeable players. This team isn’t overly likeable. Just my opinion. It’s early in the season but it’s frequently a hodge podge of stuff. Like a weird stew.
  23. Since he’s not in our conference I think it’s a great fit.
  24. NSFW warning. Avert your eyes children. I like Pope and am enjoying watching UK. sorry I had to say it ps There is no way his name is pronounced kuh-nipple.
  25. If anyone has the balls to grab Woodson’s attention—it’s X. He can easily identify guys looking for a sack of cash. He’d be nuts not to hear him. His input could make a …vas deferens on the outcome next year.
