I just wonder if there could be a scenario where Dolson already had Dusty May lined up for the job last year but then Buckner insisted Woodson get a 4th year. Woodson gets a bunch of money to try to make it a good year and turn it around, doesn’t happen, so Dolson gets to pull the plug. Dolson tells Dusty to pretty much hang tight, he takes the Michigan job and makes the buyout low so he can easily leave, then once Woodson is actually done, Dusty gets to move in. If it’s been said that Dolson “has his guy” then that could mean it was Dusty knowing he’s getting the job the whole time. obviously just brainstorming, and IF it does indeed end up being Dusty, would make me wonder if that’s how it happened.

The more I see stuff about Dusty, the more I hope we get him. Just seems like such a good dude, loves ball, and what he has done so far at Michigan is insane. Sitting at the top of the conference his first year with a bunch of kids he put together as a new team. I’d love to have Brad for obvious reasons, but it gets to the point where how long are we fine with having to bribe and beg someone to take a job where someone else could provide the same results and would crawl back to Bloomington to be our coach? Being able to get Brad is a no brainer if he truly wants the job, but heck, I REALLY hope it’s Dusty.

If we’re gonna throw “heck no” candidates out there to pass the time then how about this guy? Let’s get wild and head straight to the bottom of the Big Ten.

Brad didn’t say he wasn’t coming. Why couldn’t he have just flat out said he wasn’t interested in the IU job and wouldn’t be coming? Although I’m not too sure what’s going on, still can’t completely rule it out. Just an odd thing. If not Brad, I really hope we get Dusty.

So he has two weeks to decide but could end up giving us a yes before that, and we find out sooner right?

How about this….ESPN, and all the other national networks can go ahead and announce it soon, and then IU can just announce it themselves after the season…won’t that work?!

Has there ever been a time when a coach announced he was leaving at season end, and their replacement was hired and announced before it ended? There could have been, but idk if it’s something IU would do or not. Heck, I hope!

I mean, if Shane Steichen thinks he can coach bball, heck…

This is me just trying to think out of the box on that….isnt Osterman Dolson’s mouthpiece? If so, I could see Dolson telling Osterman to make it sound like Brad isn’t a possibility just to help keep it quiet. I certainly realize that could be inaccurate…just another way to look at things.

On field of 68 last night after the win, Jeff Goodman: “Woody hasn’t actually publicly announced that he’s stepping down at the end of the year. So does he backtrack on something that he never really said? Indiana put out a statement, but who knows..” hahaha No Jeff…..just…...no…

Any new info that has led you to think this since previously thinking it may be Dusty 60% Brad 40%?

If Brad ends up not being a thing, I’m more than fine with Dusty. I could maybe see him bringing Fife back to be an assistant so our defense was as good as it was before Woody got rid of him. Still not losing hope on it being Brad unless an announcement proves otherwise.

I was just about to say that….plus there was a commercial during the break before that had the guy with “Brad” on his shirt….i mean what the heck haha

According to Tom Brew with Sports Illustrated, it’s still unclear whether Woodson will coach the remainder of the season and that decision will come before Saturday.

If Brad is 100% the guy, would they wait til season is over to announce that hiring, or would they not have to?

Yeah id definitely like to think Dolson wouldn’t want this done now if he didn’t have his guy, so that’s encouraging and obviously exciting.

I have today off. My phone is on the charger while I refresh lol.

We thinking the announcement could definitely be today or just anytime between now and Saturday?

I really hope something comes out before Saturday.
