  1. Haha based on his twitter he liked the Concert
  2. If you looked real close you could see Jeff Goodman with his buddy Arch dancing in one of those squares.
  3. Xavier Johnson's final four are Houston, Baylor, St. Joseph, and IU per ESPN Borzello.
  4. Agree. If it wasn't for everyone getting a free year and IU being short handed they both would have redshirted in a program that was smart. I think those are two guys that wouldn't transfer if they don't play a lot as sophomores. They buy in to the program and like you said can be huge contributors in years 3 and 4. I just think as far as the backcourt goes Parker, Lander, Franklin (if he is back), and Rob are better. You add in maybe an Xavier Johnson type transfer too.
  5. Earlier today I thought he would be back because of Trayce. Now that I see IU is going hard after Xavier Johnson I don't think so...One would have to think Johnson and Stewart are two of the three starting guards. Franklin would be the third. I'm not sure Lander would be returning if that was the case. Based on what we have heard he's almost certainly coming back. Add in Phinisee and that would be a decent backcourt. Hope Armaan comes back, but I'm starting to second guess myself. Only so much ball to go around. It sounds crazy but I'll always root for him.
  6. One thing I learned from the press conference... Archie Miller may want to get a Head coaching job soon.... if IU dramatically improves, his stock will be WAY down if it isn’t already. I imagine future recruits will remember this. That being said Trayce is working his way into my top 5 favorite Hoosiers of all time!
  7. Haven't had one since Yogi. Would be nice to see Phinisee, Lander, and one of those guys compete for the PG spot. Could probably play two with Stewart as your guards.
  8. Yep. It sounds like they are going after Point Guards and shooters in the portal. Banking on TJD, Duncomb, and Brunk in the post. Maybe Race.
  9. Name dropped that he is recruiting Xavier Johnson and Wendell Green in the portal.
  10. Saw he made the comment about "doesn't want to be the guy that runs away when it's tough". Could've been a silent shot at some of the portal guys.....
  11. Said it on another thread, but I would be stunned if Armaan isn't back. I think many of us thought TJD was going to enter the draft process and it would be a wait and see process. It went from maybe 25% he would be back to 100% in a day.
  12. I'll be curious to see how much Woodson plays them together. Trayce is going to have to develop some type of outside/mid-range game for that to work.
  13. We certainly know Woody wanted him. He used the word "beg" publicly. He could be a nice building block-like Steve Downing was for Knight. It's critical Woodson wins in year one. That gets momentum going and attracts the recruits obviously. I also think Trayce going pretty public like this and having a press conference is a clear message to his buddy Armaan.
  14. This...I won't get too crazy yet. But if they can hang on to a few more guys and add some shooters...I fully expect to make the tournament next year with TJD coming back. Woodson's been a head coach. The learning curve shouldn't be too much.
  15. Amen Stu. He met with them individually Monday. If he doesn't hear by next Monday (sounds like he is meeting with them) I say goodbye.
  16. Not to get caught up on this but it is TRASH that TJD's name is not in this article. I guess they assumed he was leaving. Only explanation. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/page/Wooden040221/wooden-watch-early-favorites-2022-wooden-award
  17. My hope is that Woody gets an answer soon from the other portal guys. They're either in or out. Because you can't waste your last season with an All-American type player. This doesn't happen too often to where they return another year. I think Zeller is the most recent one and before that it was Cheaney. Indiana needs to hit the transfer portal hard and bring guys in who can have a major impact. This has to help.
  18. I would be very surprised if Armaan leaves now. Just wouldn't add up.
  19. This is huge for Trayce and Indiana. I counted and only 14 IU players have ever been a two-time All-American. Trayce can be 15. He has the potentially to be one of the best players at Indiana. He also has a chance to improve his draft stock and earn his degree (it's possible in 3 years). I also think this is his way of telling the other guys publicly to come back. I have to think this impacts Franklin's decision.
  20. Just that it wasn't close to the door being cracked "50% opened" for him coming back. And that he was waiting for Armaan and others.
  21. Wow. The update peegs gave didn't sound too promising. That being said...this could be good news with Armaan.
  22. Jay went from my favorite commentator to my least favorite one in the last year or so. He just whines all the time!!
  23. I see both sides. The players say "Well, the coach can leave and not sit right away!" I understand why say Texas Tech players are upset right now. However I think it sends a terrible message. Any adversity and you can run the other way. I think there needs to be a middle ground: You get to transfer one time without sitting out. The next time, you sit out regardless of the circumstance. The reason I love college basketball is seeing players join as freshman and leave as seniors. For the most part that happens at IU. I hope it stays that way.
