Article- IU still an Elite job?

IU has not been consistently relevant for 20, no 30 years. Like mutual funds disclaim past history does not predict future performance. Actually, the last 5 consecutive years has proved the best accolade period in those 30 years. A Big Ten Champion, Coach of the Year, #1 ranking, wins over Kansas, Kentucky, and North Carolina, and multiple NCAA Tournament appearances. Hopefully Glass hires a proven Final Four contender -Brad Stevens or Billy Donovan. Not ex-local players! -

IU doesn't need an "IU Guy" it needs the best Brad Stevens. -

Coach Search 2017 IU Candidate: Brad Stevens (Boston Celtics)

We know we don't know who will coach IU BB next year. Make Brad Stevens an offer he can't refuse. The enormous branding and marketing from National Championships will pay for itself. -

We know for sure we don't know who is coaching IU yet. We don't need an IU GUY! We need a young, cerebral tactician with a proven record of winning. Offer Brad Stevens $5 million + incentives and reap the rewards from national branding and marketing once the National Championships start rolling in.

Thank you Tom and Joni Crean. You always supported the Bloomington community, from Little League to North High School Baseball. You helped pry open the eyes of many, and the ears of some. You are a class act! -
What is the fixation with having Indiana players and coaches here? Provincial thinking. Recruit the best like Kentucky and Duke.

Great historical reference of how not to let emotions and drama ruin a career. -
Crean should have the entire starting team coming back next year since Blackmon and Bryant are not NBA ready. He needs to reach the Final Four otherwise the IU Fan base will become turncoats once again.
-
Brad Stevens is beloved in Boston. Not leaving anytime soon. That my friends would re-shape collegiate basketball recruiting.
-
An Alford hire anytime in the future is strictly a lateral move for IUBB.
-
On the contrary, pre-season rankings are metric based. For example, number of returning starters, scoring average, incoming recruits, etc.
-
Point well taken, offense schemes are poor.
-
Next year's IUBB team will be a force to be reckoned with.
-
Injuries matter. This team beat UNC and Kansas with a healthy squad, and no Hartman. Since Blackmon and Bryant are not NBA ready, and for their own good no agent deceives them, IUBB will be favored to win the Big 10 Championship and....
