General Coach Candidate News
HoosierKnight replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I think McDermott would kill it at IU. Not sure why there’s so much negativity on here towards him. He’s not my 1st or 2nd choice, but he’d do very well at IU. -

Haha. That’s why you have to go with a great player. We have a Yogi at our house. -
Agree. I just can't get over how amazing this Bloodline story is. It's already been going on for a few years and now it will easily go another year when this Civil War storyline takes off. Has to be one of the best storylines in WWE history. Quite possibly the best.

I think the biggest problem was the participants in the match. There wasn't a single believable participant besides Becky Lynch, which I think was due to the imbalance of females rosters on Raw and Smackdown. Smackdown has 5+ females who could've been booked to win that match. You could argue for Liv, I guess, but I'm just not a big fan of hers and it makes more sense to have her lose, lean into that heel turn and beat Becky one-on-one for the championship. She's going to lose it to a returning babyface Rhea Ripley anyways.

But "true fans" don't travel, or do they travel? I'm confused. -

Agree. You'd think he would be well aware of this, since it's from one of our own. -

I'm sure as a fan, it's a terrible take, but we have to be on the "tank train" right? I think I read it on here earlier, but you've got to see what you have in Sumner, Goga, Oshae and maybe even Stanley. I think we already know what we have in Aaron Holiday...

Mike Woodson and His Coaching Staff
HoosierKnight replied to Hoosierfan1901's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
He said that if it’s true, it would be the most impressive hire that’s happened so far for Woodson’s tenure. Seemed very excited about what he gets done with recruiting and behind the scenes stuff. Didn’t act like it was a for sure done deal or that he even knew anything about it. -
Good read. Really want AF back. Guard rotation of XJ, KL, PS & AF looks really good on paper. AF is tough, he can defend, shoot & get to the rim. None of our guards could do all three of those things last season.

Xavier Johnson - Commits to IU (PG)

Think he enters the portal? -
Houston did play a 15, 10, 11 & 12 seed to make it to the Final Four...that has to be a record of highest seeds played to make a Final Four.

Trayce Jackson-Davis Announces Return to Indiana Basketball (QUOTES IN OP)
HoosierKnight replied to Trish's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
A hypothetical in which they wouldn’t be in the top 10 of the roster. Not a knock on them or anything. I really like both of them and think they can/will be big contributors in their last two years of college. -

Let’s say we get guys recommitting and bring in two starter/rotation (top 8) type players. You think Leal & Galloway would redshirt? They seem like IU guys all the way. -
If everyone returns, IU is better than those options. I know I have my Crimson glasses on, but I truly believe it. I had also heard/read Virginia was really involved.
-
Correct. But it’s not that much farther. 2 1/2 hour from home. Louisville is just under 2. Bloomington is 1 hour and 45 minutes. So I could see any of the 3. I’d love it to be IU, but I’ve been told not to get my hopes up (not by family).
-
Or Vanderbilt. They offered him coming out of high school. He’s a very smart kid. I coached him in middle & high school. I’d love to see him at IU though.

Mike Woodson to be next IUBB coach. Thad Matta to be associate AD
HoosierKnight replied to iubb's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Definitely coming around on the Woodson hire. I was pretty disappointed when the news first broke, but the more I see and read, I start to get a little excited. Not sure if it’s blind faith & just hoping it works, but I am very intrigued. Keeping our guys and bringing in a couple more from the portal would be a great start & I’m very interested to see who the three assistants will be. -

Thank you. I hadn’t caught up yet and just saw your other answers to posters that pretty much had the same question. Sorry for all of the questions. -
