Gunn has to fix his shot. 8% from 3-point range isn't going to get him on the floor when it counts next season. Reneau will be the top or 2nd highest scorer next year assuming he develops over the summer, develops an outside shot, and learns how to stay out of foul trouble. Banks seems to have potential and hopefully he takes a big leap forward next year.

At this point, I would be happy for IU to win the B10. In any event, the two goals--winning the conference and competing in the NCAA tournament--are not mutually exclusive.

What makes you think that the NIL money Leal is receiving--largely from local real estate and banking firms--aren't earmarked for Leal because those firms see a long range relationship with Leal, the local star/high school Mr. Basketball? If that is the case--and it would seem to be because why else would the last guy on the bench receive that NIL---then that money is not necessarily available to other IU athletes.

Leal's NIL has no impact on any other player.

Kent State narrowly lost to highly ranked teams Houston, Gonzaga and Charleston. But if their defense is no worse than IU's (earlier you were railing against IU's 3-point defense), then IU should have nothing to worry about against Kent State.

Why use a game IU won by double digits to make your point about guarding 3-point shots? Their perimeter shooting didn't help Maryland win.

You are referencing the game against Maryland that IU won by 10 points in the Big Ten Tournament. I was referring to the regular season game that IU lost.

This is not accurate. I attended the Maryland game in College Park and Maryland hit 3s in spurts but not for the majority for the game. The real problem was Maryland's defense causing turnovers by IU and throwing IU's offense out of sync.

It's the most recent "snapshot." If Galloway continues to struggle on offense and Bates continues to shoot with confidence and play solid defense then his playing time should increase.

Galloway was MIA offensively in the Big 10 tournament. IU was better with Bates (and Reneau) on the floor. But Galloway is generally better on defensive than Bates and Kent State has good guards who drive to the bucket.

The better Indiana is in the NCAA tournament the more likely JHS leaves. IU can only advance if JHS plays well. If he plays well that solidifies his position as a first rounder.

Historically, Penn State and Northwestern have been mediocre even bad. But this year both have been good.

Iona, which is a 13 in the Midwest region under the above scenario, is playing pretty well under Rick Pitino.

The draft boards may not be accurate in predicting the exact order (after the consensus order at the top of the draft). But overall they accurately predict who will be chosen in the first 20 or so.

Georgetown is really not a step up for Shrewsberry. They haven't been a national powerhouse since John Thompson II. John Thompson III had a couple of good teams but the program declined under him which was why he was fired. Since Thompson III the program has been in free fall culminating in the Patrick Ewing train wreck. Their practice and game facilities are awful. The Washington DC area produces some very good high school basketball players but Georgetown has struggled to land the best of them. Those that have gone to Georgetown recently have ended up transferring out. Notre Dame basketball has been in decline also but nowhere near as badly as Georgetown. And, Notre Dame has good facilities and a national recruiting base. Notre Dame would be a much better school for Shrewsberry to go to than Georgetown although there will probably be some other schools that are better for him than Notre Dame opening up.

Do you mean like Jalen Hood-Schifino? He did miss the 3-point shot that would have sent the game into overtime, so maybe that qualifies as a breakdown.
