I really don't think anyone knows if the Athletic Department is doing their due diligence. How many knew about Sampson or Crean being hired except right before the announcement? There was talk of Tony Bennett and Archie Miller on the Illinois boards right up to the announcement of Brad Underwood.

There is just too much information that keeps coming up from all over the place. The common theme is Billy Donovan. At the very least, I would think there are some serious talks going on with him. Bennett's name had been floated early and now it seems to have faded away. No other coach is being mentioned besides Alford, and that is primarily due to the media.
