I was beginning to wonder if we would circle back around to Few before too long. I honestly think we'd have a better shot at him than A) many people think and B) several other candidates.

I'm not sure he can walk right out of the job, contractually speaking. That's a total guess, though.

My thing with Stevens is IF he has supposed interest in returning to college, it seemed wishy washy even before Isaac relayed the most recent Stevens update. How long would he really be interested in coaching if he would decide to adventure in Bloomington? If he's here 3 seasons then realizes he doesn't really have the passion for it he anticipated, then where are we? No, he doesn't have to be here 25 years, but a decade would be nice.

It seems pretty simple, considering all the debate about him. If that folder is any thicker 4 years later, it's an easy 'No' from administration.

He's used to managing multi-year contracts complete with options, clauses, and bonuses in a world where you can barter the players attached to the numbers as human capital. I don't think NIL scares him.

Woodson finishing out the season with a confirmed resignation/retirement is the least messy way for this to conclude. It's traditional, less volatile, and less speculative. Easily overshadowed in a few weeks. The last thing this administration needs is extra negative attention while trying to close the deal that's being done.

I'm sure he's quit watching it, too, being a GM of a pro team that drafts...college players.
