If you're aiming for a guy that's had much more than that over his career you might be carrying borderline unrealistic expectations because there aren't many of them out there, let alone many of them who are also looking to switch jobs. Understanding, however, everyone has their own interpretation of 'capable'. Yours may be different than mine and that's alright.

Man that's refreshing after listening to Woodson talk basketball. The man also is just aware, and while it's certain he does his homework on opponents it sounds like he's specifically aware of the situation at Indiana. Disclaimer: I'm not a Cronin shill. Not an anyone shill, really. Just pro-guys that can run a disciplined, hard-nosed and intelligent basketball program. I'm in the minority but I'd take him. He's proven he knows how to coach kids to win, but seems like one of those guys still waiting for a big break and under the current college basketball landscape IU is primed to be that program that can help elevate him. People say hire a coach for their future, not their past. But the best predictor of future behavior (success, in this instance) is past behavior. He's not the sexiest hire largely because of his personality but two of the most successful coaches we've experienced at IU haven't exactly been sweeties themselves. It's not a beauty contest anyway. It's about finding who can consistently put your program in a position to win. He's one of those.

For what it's worth Isaac has been here almost a year and Crone since 2016.

If you click on your username in the top right it will give you a drop down with an option for 'blocked users'. Go there and enter any handles you want to block.

You were a strong-willed child I have no doubt. Always up for conflict and often missing the point. I wasn't talking about fandom. I was talking about leaving people alone. But again, you're hellbent on conflict and still missing the point (or manipulating it as best you can) so I'll hand you back your own words again. "Just stop."

My wishful thinking scenario is Stevens is actually punking Goodman knowing he'd be chomping at the bit to put that statement out to IU fans. He worded it vaguely and when he takes the job he can just say he wasn't a candidate at that particular time, then Indiana came calling afterward. Then we swarm Goodman relentlessly until he finds a different profession and fades away into obscurity. But in reality a duck is usually a duck and its very possible Option 1 is no longer an option. Time will tell.

And did you even read THAT post? I've never bought into Stevens. It was always slim at best, like I said. I'm not sure that's believing in fairy tales, but I do believe there are perpetually sour people. You're so damn focused on fighting with people you make things more difficult than they need to be. Like you said earlier: "I root for IU. Don't overthink this." WE root for IU. All of us. There are different paths to success and different views on how we're going to get there. Don't overcomplicate this. However this hire turns out it's going to land us in a better position than the one we're currently dealing with. People are free to speculate however they wish until we have our answer.

You in no way addressed my post but took it as yet another opportunity to talk down to someone. Imagine. I was basically asking the three of you what is wrong with other people believing differently than you? For the record you haven't seen me post one thing pumping up Stevens to IU. I also believe it to have been a slim possibility. But I'm sure not showing up to crap on other people's opinions, and do you understand why?
