Of course. I was making an assumption. This will all play out and there are probably receipts.

I'm not sure if that's a good thing for Odom's career in the grand scheme of things. Especially, if the kid goes public, which he will. The PR surrounding UNLV and Odom's staff would easily be worth a $100K payment. Big picture stuff here. Assuming the kid hasn't seen a dime he was promised, who in their right mind stays at a job not getting paid?

I don't understand what you're talking about. What does "game experience" mean? You said IUFB is comical. Either explain what you're talking about or deal with a diehard like myself making the comments I made. Sometimes ripping off the band-aid is the best way to address and expose things. If that hurts your feelings then don't make the 'almost comical' comments you made.

@IU - Kaulie What the puck does 'game experience' even mean?! Attending a Big Ten football game in a large +50k seat stadium doesn't get more game experience than anything else that I can think of. For real. What the heck does 'game experience' mean? Give examples please. And to think waiting for the wheather to get colder will help with attendance is, as you put it, comical. Ask the folks in Athens, GA or Gainesville, FL or any SEC or ACC southern team for that matter about how much the weather matters for their attendance. I'll bet my entire life savings that 9 out of 10 that you ask, answers, "It doesn't matter." Us IUFB faithful will never understand this type of mindset. I'd rather read from folks that they just aren't football fans and could care less about the program than read some of these sorry ars excuses. Eff sake, either get on this train or get off. Enough with the excuses. Change your mindset. Take it from a guy that's watched this program since the 80s, this team is different. In a good way.

Coach Curt Cignetti to INDIANA... Forever and Ever, Amen!
Lebowski replied to mamasa's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
To be fair, from what I understand most schools didn't want to "take a chance" on him because of his age. So I'm not sure he really had the opportunity to move on from JMU. I also read or heard on a podcast somewhere that Dolson needed to make a pitch to get him at IU. Something to do with NIL etc. etc.. I guess Coach Cig wasn't really interested in the job until Dolson promised the commitment Coach Cig wanted. I could be wrong though. What's awesome about the current situation is that we are seeing before our eyes a transformation on who to recruit from the transfer portal. The conventional thinking has been getting P4 players but he didn't really go that route. Instead he went after 'all-star' G5 players. I think this might be a paradigm shift of recruiting in the college football transfer portal that Coach Cig created. And that most likely goes back to him coaching at JMU for so many years. -
Spot on. If you had the extra day I would have told you to head down to Laguna Beach or head up to Santa Barbara for some wine tasting. LOL!

Basketball might warrant this. I couldn't tell you how many times I spoke to UCLA fans about hoops out there.

@DChoosier a great synopsis of your experience. I was there as well. I didn't do the "IU Bar" tent but did tailgate on the golf course. We had UCLA fans on one side of us and fellow IU fans on the other. I missed the first drive but was walking through my seat section tunnel when we scored our first TD. My crew were a bunch of California alums and they tend to just take their sweet ars time with things. That was probably the only negative thing about the whole trip. I plan on making the trip out there every time IUFB plays in Southern California. Looking forward to experiencing the Coliseum in 2027. I might even do some IUBB games out there as well. Pasadena is a great town out there. Next time you go I also recommend South Bay (the Manhattan Beach/Hermosa Beach area).

Coach Curt Cignetti to INDIANA... Forever and Ever, Amen!

Good football teams beat who they are supposed to beat pretty handedly. That wasn't the case with Coach Lynch. -
We need to get used to a Cignetti coached QB being discussed for post season accolades, including the Heisman. "Change the way people think." -Coach Cig

I was there and it was awesome! Moving Washington out of the Questionable into the Possible. IUFB -28.5 vs Charlotte

Coach Curt Cignetti to INDIANA... Forever and Ever, Amen!
Lebowski replied to mamasa's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Even if Flordia wanted him, I don't think he leaves. He's here for a reason. He already left a job that he fully intending on retiring from. While Flordia is an enticing job he would be leaving a job that's in his full control with the backing of the administration. I doubt Florida admins would let go of the reins like he would demand. He's ours guys and we need to embrace this and support the poop out of his team. The only thing I'm 'worried' about is when Haines, Shanahan, Sunseri, etc. etc. go (because they will), will he hire the right coaches to fit in and win. But honestly, I'm not that worried. -

Everyone just settle down. We haven't even played 4 games yet. Plus this whole idea that we somehow aren't able to get into the ring to fight is absurd. I'll say it again, if all of this takes place and he goes elsewhere it won't be because IU didn't throw him everything and the kitchen sink. And our kitchen sink is a pretty effin' big sink. -

Man, I didn't have this type of conversation on my bingo card after 3 games. @GnarlyTimGarl these are all good problems to have. Which is rare. I don't recall it ever happening to IUFB. The day IU hired him was the day I knew the administration was serious about turning around the program. IU will handle these situations if they come. Whitten and Dolson fully understand the importance of revenue and how much of an impact that is when IUFB is successful. It trickles down to all other sports at IU, including basketball. Whitten has already done a lot for the football program and I have faith they'll do all that they can to keep him in B-town. If he were to go elsewhere it won't be because IU didn't offer him the bag. And if he does go, I have faith IU will hire another solid football coach. Hopefully, at some point, the IUFB job will be coveted. I believe that's the goal for the current situation. They're in it to win it. Most importantly though, IUFB is a solid fit for Coach Cig because they both have something to prove. I want to believe he's here to see this through. And wants to build a program and leave a legacy. He told everyone in his first presser that he's got to change the way people think. And he's doing just that after 3 effin' games. -
IUFB @ UCLA - 9/14 @ 7:30ET on NBC
Lebowski replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Attended the game and just basically told everyone and everybody that would listen that, "I told you this team is different and coached like something you're not used to seeing." I finally got some believers. Buckle up folks, enjoy the ride and support the eff out of this team. ESPN Matchup Predictor has IUFB 11-1. "Change the way people think." -Coach Cig -

Players do care about the history of a program and someone's or something's resume. There's a reason why Coach Riley is at USC and I don't think it's because of his special teams skills. People in general care about the history of fill in the blank. For example, I typically care about a potential place of employment's history and consider that when 'accepting' a job from them. USC and Coach Riley went through an interview process and I'm certain both knew each other's history. -
