  1. https://hoosierhuddle.com/hoosier-blog/cignetti-believed-coming-to-iu-would-bring-him-closer-to-his-dad/2025/2/19 Curt Cignetti was very close with his father before his passing in September of 2022, and one of Cig’s other motives for coming to Bloomington was his dad. “I just figured maybe coming to [Indiana University] would bring me a little closer to my dad” Cignetti answered on what drew him to IU during A Conversation with Coach Cignetti on Tuesday.

  7. We get it @Stuhoo, you're concerned about his D1 experience. Totally makes sense. I'm here to tell you though he'll end up somewhere else other than Drake and will be someone's thorn in their back. I promise you. This guy just coaches and coaching matters. I'd be extremely comfortable IU hiring this guy. That doesn't mean he'll be successful in the Big Ten. And yes, it would be an "experience gamble" giving this guy the keys. But like I said, I'll be really comfortable knowing he's driving the IUBB bus just like I was when Dolson finally got serious about hiring a proven winner for IUFB. Coaching matters. There's like only one coach "in the market" (Mark Few) with this kind of win percentage. Coaching matters.
  8. Yep, close games like that can be picked apart with what ifs. Make a free throw here, stop an easy bucket there, etc. etc. Bottom line, his team is still 1st in the conference.
  9. They don't win like McCollum. Neither have any rings, notice the plural, at any level. IUBB's next coach should have a resume with championship experience. Every fan should expect that.
  10. Yeah, well, the Dude abides.
  11. Just, take it easy, man.
  12. Whoever hires McCollum will be getting a guy that can flat out coach. Coaching matters.
  13. I didn't go back and read, can someone please get me up to speed on the current status?
  14. Yeah, waving the effin' gun around!
  15. Just take it easy, man.
  16. Hear me now, believe me later. We're gonna regret not hiring him.
  17. Head to head: One game on record, B over A in a D2 final four game.
  18. Except McCollum. LOL! ;-)

  22. If we don't hire Ben McCollum we're going to regret this opportunity.
  23. LOLOLOL! Yes, pretty much. It's a dramatic change from the old days of Coach Crews Rockin' Roberts with the Purple Power Purple Pride.
  24. I'm 100% sold on Ben McCollum. He's coming to my neck of the woods in a couple of weeks. I'll be there to watch his rag tag bunch put the beat down on UE. His first year in D1 and he's first in the Valley with four D2 transfers from his previous team not only on the team but starting. He' basically a point guard whisperer and if he's not coaching in Bloomington he'll be a thorn in our back. Because he'll end up in the Big Ten at Iowa or something. And he'll win multiple championships. His career winning percentage is .815 and his current D1 winning percentage is .916. The guy can flat out coach and coaching matters.
