(2019) PF Trayce Jackson-Davis to INDIANA
ap2345 replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
The only reason I think IU is still pursing Forrester is because the coaching staff thinks that Morgan or Davis or both will be going pro of some sort after this year. -
(2018) PG Darius Garland to Vandy
ap2345 replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Phinisee doesn't impact Garland. Garland is a day 1 starter for 1 or 2 years max. Phinisee is a 4 year guy that probably doesn't start until year 3 at the earliest. -

I agree. I'm just saying that if they did want to come here and he wanted them that CAM would find a way to make it happen. -

Yeah where did he post that? I can't seem to find it. -
(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
ap2345 replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
If Romeo doesn't end up at an Adidas school I'll be shocked. I also wouldn't be surprised if Adidas stepped in to make sure he ends up at, KU, U of L, or IU. They were however part of the reason that Schilling left UCLA and came to IU after Adidas made the switch to Under Armour. I know some of you think that the Langford's are above that but there is nothing wrong with Adidas making sure Romeo knows that he'll gets a huge shoe deal after his 1 and done season in school if he goes to an Adidas school. PS: I know everyone talks about Romeo playing for an Adidas AAU team but New Albany also wears Adidas shoes and Uniforms. Coincidence? I don't think so. -

If Brooks and TJD want to be Hoosiers they will be Hoosiers. Same probably goes for Watford, Hurt, and any other 5 stars that Archie is recruiting. Yes that means that Archie might have to pull some scholarships but if a kid proves he can't play at a championship level and Archie didn't recruit him the tough luck. It stinks for the player but Archie was brought in to hang banner #6 not make players that FCTC recruited happy. -
I'm not sure what school this has to do with but it got the attention of both Rick and Alex Bozich.

(2018) PF Jake Forrester to IU
ap2345 replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Thank you for being another voice of reason. I know IU had some interest in Brown but I'm pretty sure Archie hasn't made an offer. Some people are looking at 2019 like it's guaranteed we land 2 or 3 5* recruits but nothing is guaranteed in recruiting especially when dealing with teenagers. -
(2018) PG Darius Garland to Vandy

The fact that IU is still recruiting Garland and Devoe. Tells me that either Green, Jones, or Durham will be going pro or transferring after this year. I would be leaning towards a transfer. -
(2018) PF Jake Forrester to IU
ap2345 replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Truthfully after watching a couple of Forrester's mix tapes I'm not real sure why so many people are down on him. If you watch the highlights on offense he runs the lane pretty well, he has a decent jumper although it is a slow release, and he seems to crash the glass every time a shot goes up. On defense he keeps his hands up to block shots and doesn't slap down which helps avoid foul trouble. I could also see him becoming better as he adds weight because he could still fill out his frame. So with that I understand that he isn't an elite talent but I could also se him being similar to Juwan Morgan in a year or two. Just my two cents on the matter of Jake Forrester's recruitment. -

ap2345 replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I'm guessing that the coaching staff either thinks there is a player or 2 that could go pro that we don't know about yet or there will be a couple of guys transfer. -
(2019) PF Isaiah Stewart to Washington
ap2345 replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I don't think it's even a question as to whether or not Watford and Brooks can play together. Watford is a SF and Brooks is a SF/PF. In fact according to ESPN and Rivals Brooks is a PF which I personally agree with after watching him play a couple of times because I thought his athleticism was a question mark to match up against elite SF's. -

He is taking an official visit to Ohio State. -
(2018) C Moses Brown to UCLA
ap2345 replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
If you have the chance to take a 1 and done you do it. It helps with other recruits especially if the player is picked in the first round. Also it doesn't strap down a scholarship for more than 1 year. I know some people don't want IU to mess with 1 and done players but it is a necessary evil in order to try and get this program back to the top and hang banner #6. Besides landing 2 one and done players gives you at least 2 scholarships that are open for 2019 if you have an incoming class of Anderson, Hunter, Phinisee, Langford, and Brown. you could have as many as 3, 4, or 5 open if they get Garland instead of Phinisee or another player like Davis goes pro not to mention Morgan will have graduated. So I guess what I'm getting at is it will give Archie talent to play with and yet flexibility in 2019 when things could start getting really interesting. -
(2018) PF Darius Days to LSU

Yes Smith, Hunter, and Anderson will be on the wings moving forward. I'm thinking the day's of playing a wing as a 4 are over unless it is a matchup situation and a team has 4 perimeter players in the court. -
(2018) PG - James Akinjo

I could see Henry and his buddy Eric Hunter going to Butler together. -

Anybody read the updates on Henry from Rabby? -
(2018) SF Aaron Henry to Michigan State
ap2345 replied to goonaha's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I think that Archie is trying to collect as much versatile talent as possible. I see Anderson as a shooter at 2 or 3 spot. Henry can play and defend 2-4 and could possibly play some point forward at times. Hunter is an athletic 3 that is similar to Troy Williams but has a better jumper and is also smarter decision maker. I think Archie could take Henry and then wait to see what Romeo does before adding a fifth commit. I could also see him taking up to six commits. If he thinks that they will lose Newkirk, McSwain, Priller, Hartman, Johnson, and someone else. Maybe someone is looking like a pro in workouts that we won't know about until the season starts. -
(2018) G/F Damezi Anderson to Detroit Mercy

I love the mentality that Anderson and Hunter have right now about raising the level of the program. -
(2018) SG Eric Hunter to Purdue
ap2345 replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
People said the same thing about Desmond Baine and he's been pretty good at TCU. You have to go off of his numbers against bigger schools and not whether his team won or lost. He could play great and his team just can't do anything to stop the other team they are playing. -
(2019) SF Trendon Watford to LSU

I noticed that in the latest ESPN ranking Brooks was listed as a PF so I think they could play together. -
Yeah what are you thinking/hearing Stu?

(2018) SG Keldon Johnson
ap2345 replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
This would be a good plan B if Romeo goes someplace else or Johnson and Langford also have enough size to play together on the wings with Garland, Phinisee, Green, Carey, or someone else running the point. -
Player and Recruit Retention News/Discussion & Potential Transfers
ap2345 replied to Brass Cannon's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yeah about that. No Thanks! Let's let Priller stay on the bench and be the 20 point guy or if we get 2 or 3 guys in foul trouble. I couldn't even imagine Priller trying to hold his ground against Haas.
