Archie & Bennett are my top two realistic candidates with Altmanup there but Oregon has money to match. I like Mack & Hoiberg as well. Throw in Enfield, Holtmann & probably Beard as well for our backup backup plans. If I had to pick someone though...... I would like to see more before offering him a job here. The Knight ties and Knight thinking so highly of him could make some old boosters push for it though. Texas Tech is not a school to thrive at. For some reason they got horrible reviews when the spot opened. People said it was very hard to recruit there. In a major conference not good news. Knight and Tubby did okay but the ceiling there isn't very high. I think he could land a Texas or Oklahoma type school soon though. Bringing him here would be risky. Knight gave Beard GLOWING reviews as well. Has said once he met him right after taking the Texas Tech job he knew he had his son Pat but told Pat he had to get Beard!! Chris Beard is gonna be a good coach somewhere soon. Maybe Texas Tech even. Lubock is a very hard school to get kids to come play though. I have watched Jalen play a couple times and it is safe to say this kid will be a program changer. With James Sr as his dad and coach I don't see him letting him let his game slip up. IMO once Jalen is done with HS he tries going to college with him. Could be package deal. Altman would be interesting. Has made Oregon cool to go to for basketball. I didn't see that coming either. I like his teams and he seems to always have balance on his roster. When Dillon Brooks was out it could have decimated them, but he figured it out. Hasn't made any final fours or anything but out of all the guys we want that aren't the top tier he would be my first call. Stevens, Donovan, Bennett, Wright is the top tier Altman leads second tier with Archie, Mike White, Mack, Hoiberg, Marshall, Mick Cronin, Third tier Holtman, Enfield, Chris Collins, Brad Underwood, Leonard Hamilton, McDermott, Jamie Dixon I wouldn't necessarily want anyone in the 3rd tier but most are upgrades. I love Underwood, Cronin, White and really love Altman as well as Archie as options. At this point though I just want change to give our program a new face and get optimism back. Mike White is gonna be a popular name probably after this year or next. Florida isn't looked at like the Donovan area so it isn't in the top tier area or even middle tier. Imagine if he says he would love it. With the Celtics fanbase and ours it would be a madhouse. He respects the game and people if he has those convos it will be behind closed doors.
