Yup!! I do see Glass telling him beforehand he is planning to fire him so if Crean knows he is gone he will try saving face. I honestly think one of two things could happen to Crean if fired. If OG is healthy during workouts he has a chance to move up at least 5-8 spots. The lowest I have seen OG is 23rd and TB the lowest is 28th. JBJ is only in one, but he will at least get a summer league invite and with a real coach calling screens for him I think he would have a shot at making a team. OG and Bryant are both solidly in the first round in almost all mock drafts. Even with OG's injury. The Heat have 9 players right now that were D League guys. The D League is even a good option at this point for kids. Money isn't good, but it is growing and sponsors are being added. In a few years the pay will probably go up to 100-200,000. There are plenty undrafted guys now too. If they all want to leave they will get paid to play ball next year. Go ask Chad Ford, Jonathon Giovany, or Gary Parrish all of them have OG and Bryant in. My bad. My Sixers are 4 1/2 out of a playoff berth right now if that shows anything. Everyone is a playoff contender every year in the NBA till usually a week or two after all star break. This year is exceptionally bad. Though the West is starting to get it together since the Nuggets have been playing good lately. I agree those schools would be good for him. He could play anywhere but question is where would he fit the best to boost his stock. Those schools get more notice than middle of the pack power 5 teams though so it would be smart. Zags lose a cpl guys too he could step right in by NWG who is a solid pg. Per the Indianapolis Star IU brought in nearly 100 million in revenue. That isn't all profit so it'd be interesting to see that part, but 100 million a year has to be up there with the top basketball schools. Football schools specially SEC with their own ESPN network probably make a lot but like I said basketball it would have to be towards the top. More evidence of a top program. I feel like the media only pays attention to what they want too. We have one of the biggest fan bases and one of the bigger revenue streams why shouldn't we expect to be good. I forgot all about UVA!! As mentioned RoJo is not a pg. So anywhere else he either had the position taught to him better or wouldn't have to do it. He is the one kid I think could be good in almost any system. Him at UVA would probably give him a chance at the NBA. He has a lot of good skills that translate, but hasn't put it all together yet. Another coach probably has him reaching his full potential. I do expect him to have a HUGE year next year for us though. Him and DD will be our go to guys. Right lol!! The reversible starter coats with IU basketball and ND football. I hate that that is a thing. I agree to an extent that his job should be in jeopardy if Crean is brought back only cause how bad next season could potentially be. If it looked better I would say he was on the hot seat with next year firmly. I could see it costing him his job I just personally don't think he should. I want Crean gone just as much as everyone else. I just don't think firing your biggest sport coach and AD at the same time isn't a good idea for IU sports all together. A new AD probably gives Crean next year still and maybe even longer based on not being around the program for all the negativity their last few years. Exactly!! If you love IU just for hoops it means you root for a different college football team which means your probably a fair weather fan. If you want to be like Duke please lets be like Duke where if you talk anything other than basketball the lacrosse issue is brought up. Lol not even Duke and UK solely care about MBB. It is their big money generator yes. I love IU sports. I have been to just as many baseball games as football. I have been to plenty basketball games. Heck believe it or not I took a date to campus on a non sporting event day just to be on the campus. I live 3 hours away. I get the frustration but this thread is a joke, if you are bashing Glass directly for basketball and only basketball. Yes we are a MBB school, but that doesn't mean all the other sports don't count. IU brings in a lot of money from Football, baseball and soccer. WBB is getting good and will start to generate money. Swimming has always been at least above average. I personally like Glass and he has marketed us into a rebuilt AH and Cook Hall. The Cuban Center comes regardless. He has done his job well. If Crean stays the transfers are gonna be just as bad as the NBA kids. We will certainly lose at least 5 kids. Media members don't watch this team game by game. The body language of our guys out there are just not in it. I always felt college basketball and football was one of those jobs covering is almost impossible. I haven't heard a word that JBJ was close to graduating, but Marion is the type of town that runs off their stars. I have heard people saying Sr wants him to go to MSU. He will definitely be missed. He is our best player this year. Last year we had Yogi. Yogi was just one of those PG's you rarely see. His on ball defense with OG getting more minutes too made our defense a lot better. Zeisloft, Max and a healthy Colin. Those are the guys we need year in year out. If we had 2 of 3 of those back this year, I have faith we would be a lot better. There are no leaders on this team. It isn't their fault either. You can't make a kid a leader they have to want to be. My source said that Sr was at the game and Crean said the usual that he loves JBJ and blah blah after and Sr offered to talk him and Crean insisted it wasn't a big deal. Then on ride home he hears Crean bashing him publicly. Sr after talking to Crean on phone or text was pissed. He got out of the car on the phone yelling and screaming and then walked inside and threw his phone against the wall. Sr hasnt really talked to anyone about it supposedly so thats the best the story is gonna sound for us probably. He did say Sr told a lot of ppl he overreacted the next day and said some things he didnt mean but I think that is cause he is a more mature person than Crean. See the problem with your sarcasm is sweet sixteen to most schools is great. It means your a top 16 school. So you argue Crean isn't top 75 then say he will be in the sweet sixteen elsewhere. Top 40 coach as I said. Is someone who makes the tourney 6-7 years out of 10 and makes a run of a game or two every now and then. Not like I said he was awesome and the best coach ever lol. He will definitely be top 75. Let's not be that drastic. He did fine at Marquette before here. 4 trips in 5 years to the tourney. Everyone thinks it was his final four run. He missed the tourney the next year then made it 3 straight years with 24 wins or more. He has a knack for finding under ranked kids. He has misses yes but OG, Vic, Diener, Matthews, McNeal, Wade & Jimmy Butler who he recruited but signed w Buzz as well as Novak. That is just guys who made the NBA. Zeisloft & Sheehey were two other really good finds and I think Clifton Moore will be one as well. He will be a top 40 coach maybe better and will have whatever team close to the tourney each year. Difference is at IU that isn't okay. He will find somewhere it is and probably succeed expectations there. I just hope for his sake he doesn't use it to land another high profile job. He struggles under pressure too much and hates fans talking too much obviously. Missouri or maybe NC State would be great for him. I think he needs to go down south though.
