  1. Media in Louisville have thought for weeks now (before this new scandal) that Louisville was losing their grip on Romeo anyways. No big disappointment in losing him is the way that they are spinning it here. Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app
  2. I never implied that TC was a great coach. I thought that it was time for him to go. But I cannot see how anyone could not throw some accolades his way. If it is all about winning a national championships and only expectations of that, I could understand the sentiments. That is the ultimate goal every season. If Crean played clean against those that didn't, and that put our program at any kind of a disadvantage, then some accolades should be thrown his way. For a 4 to 5 year period, we had the highest winning percentage against top 10 ranked teams than any other team in the country. That too seems to be lost on alot of people. I'm not defending TC or his body of work, but to totally dismiss is just plain ludicrous. But what do I know. I know that some on here (not naming names) had been against the hire from the start. 3. Not so much on the Louisville boards. They are definitely not wanting Crean. Already trying to put the blame on us for all their problems. Saying we ratted them out with the Katrina Powell book, and now Kenny Johnson buying players lol! Not fond of IU. Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app
  4. Please outline the LARGE fraction of his job that he did not do. Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app
  5. Agree to disagree with you sir! Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app
  6. SMU was 30+ years ago. Prior to that, SMU was penalized seven times previously going back to 1974. Just don't see that for Louisville. I think the NCAA will see the economic impact this has on all but the school, and will limit the penalties reach to affect just the university. Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app
  7. I will still bet that "shutting them down completely" will not happen. Heavy handed penalty, yes. Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app
  8. This is going to end up so far reaching. You know what though...I feel pretty good for us. Not so good for the AAU teams in our state. Flashbacks to the AAU/African guardian mess here in state. Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app
  9. Render them insignificant yes, shut it down no. Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app
  10. Lol! At the going rate of progress of the NCAA on getting things done...thats where the bets should be! Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app
  11. At the expense of much more than the University? I will bet anyone here that it won't happen and it shouldn't. Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app
  12. I don't see the NCAA leveling a death penalty against Louisville that will keep them from the court completely. This is a different age of college sports. Louisville has no proffessional sports. It is basically a college town. To totally kill the program would massively affect the lives of those outside of the school by removing the monetary sources for all of the businesses in and around the KFC YUM Center. This would be an economic hit that would affect the whole community. With the large amounts of dollars from tournaments and tv contracts afforded to these schools, I could see the NCAA banning UofL from any conference/NCAA tournaments for 5 years and a loss of 7/8 schollys per season. Also a hefty fine to the University. This would effectively shut down the program without destroying the local economy around it. This is an effective punishment that hits the school hard but limits what is felt to the community. Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app
  13. Looks like Florida and Vandy will be hot on him. From Florida. Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app
  14. In the long run yes. Right now though (as per President) they are looking for someone to serve as a patch for the moment. They start practice in 5 days. They are looking for someone who can come in and coach and help the current players get thru this season and try to somewhat make it enjoyable for them. 15. Its not about rebuilding. Louisville as of now is just looking for someone to come in and get them thru this season. I don't think that Crean would settle on a 1yr deal for that. I can tell you this, the UofL fanbase in NO WAY is wanting Crean to be named. But, he does have a better record against Cal than Slick Rick. Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app
  16. 5* SG Anfernee Simons just decommitted from UofL Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app
  17. A few names being thrown out ss interim head coaches: Scotty Davenport, Tom Crean, Thad Matta and J. Thompsom III Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app
  18. Just in: Looks as though the 1pm news conference by UofL will announce that Jurich and Pitino will be placed on administrative leave until next board of trustees meeting. This will allow UofL to review contracts, money etc... They want to cover all bases in making sure that their backsides are covered when they do make the move to fire both. Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app
  19. From WAVE Chnl 3 Sports Director Kent Taylor: UofL Board of Trustees asked AD Tom Jurich to fire Rick Pitino and refused. Now both out at UofL. Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app
  20. UofL AD Tom Jurich out! This tweeyed by former UofL President John Ramsey. Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app
  21. Planned to take all of his visits anyways. Where's the surprise? Do diligence. Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app
  22. Lol...you must be my neighbor too! I can't believe that I missed Pat. That bald top would've been glowing ted as hot as it has been down here. Thought you were a FC guy lol! Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app
  23. This is why no schools have been named from the investigation. No federal laws were broken by the schools. Several NCAA infractions though. Reports have been forwarded to the NCAA. Louisville will NOT escape the wrath. Do in part by their attitude towards the infractions committee during the hookergate scandal. I believe the hammer will drop on this one. I don't see UofL fighting this one, or they will have to fight the FBI investigation. That would be suicide. They would lose millions in alumni money. Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app
  24. Once again, I am not in one bit worried about Kansas. It has been a priority this entire recruitment that Romeo and the Langford family would like Romeo to play somewhere close to home. This takes it down to 2 schools now. IU and Vandy. IU is my continued pick! ROOAAARRR! Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app
  25. The indictment doesn't publicly name the schools. The schools did not directly pay the players or families. It was Adidas who funneled money to the families to have their kids to sign with certain schools. Those schools did not break any federal laws but did break NCAA laws. All information from these federal investigations will be handed over to the NCAA for further use. The description of one of the schools in the reports mirror the University of Louisville to include coach Kenny Johnson and recruit Brian Bowen. Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app
