X is the big unknown right now. I mean I think he gets back and helps us for sure but how much remains to be seen. Bates needs to get it going or his minutes are going to disappear. I think Gallo will continue to play heavy minutes and will be on the floor to close out games regardless of X.

We are pretty tight lipped on injuries. I don’t think he’s close like as in Northwestern this week and maybe not next weekend but don’t think it will be long after that.

I give Geronimo some credit in that he was much better in the second half. That first half though he was awful on defense. I know I said it earlier but really disappointed Banks didn’t play. CMW can’t talk tough about guys having to earn their minutes and when he gets the opportunity to play he earns playing time but then doesn’t play. That really bothers me.

That’s a big win on the road. Thanks Juwan Howard for being an awful coach.

Banks needs to play. He has earned minutes. That’s one thing I have a problem with CMW. He preaches and talks about guys earning minutes but keeps running out Bates/Geronimo who have both been awful tonight especially on defense.

That’s exactly what I said lol. Race made some key plays late that helped us get the win. I like the split right now with Malik and Race with Malik getting slightly more minutes. I think maybe a few minutes here and there for Geronimo but that’s it. He should not be playing significant minutes. I honestly prefer Banks to Geronimo.

Race made some big plays late against Purdue and some big free throws tonight. I don’t see Geronimo playing much going forward and he shouldn’t.

100%. We were great and I think for sure helped and provided a lift in the first half and down the stretch.

This is true but Painter is no dummy. I fear he just plants Edey at the rim. Let’s TJD dribble in half circles outside of a few feet. TJD has shown he is unwilling to think about shooting. Now if he lets Edey guard him outside of the rim we are in business. I’m also really hoping he doubles him. Get a couple threes and the crowd going crazy and we be good. I just fear Painter is too smart and just buries Edey under the basket.

Interested to see how they guard TJD. Double teaming him does us a huge favor.

There is a good reason. He is a shooting threat. Simple as that. Having been to almost every home game teams don’t leave him unless their is a breakdown. His mere presence on the perimeter creates much needed space for us to get into the things we want to do.
